Library [09/19]

The normal library tasks were starting to get familiar now that George had been doing them for three weeks.  Which weirdly didn't mean they were going faster cause as he put the books away, he kept stopping to look through them.  Who was reading books about pandas' mating habits?  Did they really think they were going to be breeding pandas anytime in the next fifteen years?

He finally settled down after lunch with a book about theories of government.  And a dictionary because Tortall education so didn't cover words like 'federalism.'

Despite his best efforts last night, he was still leaving little sparkles of blue and gold glitter everywhere he went.  Thank you, Jean.

She was certain plenty a gixie found that move endearing. Not that she did. "I'm shocked," she said dryly.

She took the book from him, reading the title curiously. "It'd be good to know how they work here," she agreed, looking through it. "How many books can you borrow?"

"I'm not going to steal," she made a face at him. "I'll start with these."

"And what'd be more exciting?" she asked. Mayhap it was a bad idea to ask.

She shook her head. "Reading about explosions wouldn't be that more interesting than reading this." Some things George didn't come by naturally.

"Breaking up a brawling," she mused. "Hobbling Rats."

"I know," she made a face. "I'm getting tired of running around the island."

"I'm training," she rolled her eyes. "I used to be a runner for my Lord. Tis a good way to stay in shape."

"There's more exciting things to do," she agreed. She just hadn't figured out what they were around here.

She actually had to think, which was sad. "Fight Club is interesting. Have you heard of it?"

"I've been the last couple of weeks," she nodded. "There's a few people who want to be guards."

"If I said aught like it, you'd do the opposite anyway," she pointed out with a shake of her head.
