After handwavily informing the class to bring their babies on to class, Deadpool was positively bouncing around.

"The bond between a boy--or girl--or tenticular elder god crammed into a meat puppet--and their sword is a sacred one. Yin to your yang, Oreo to your milk, the winner combo of the Jays on America's Next Top Model," Deadpool said, twirling one of his babies like he was in Glee Club.

...they needed a Glee Club here.

He'd be on that like white on rice, baby.

"So today we'll be talkin' about our weapons of choice! And how we take care of it in the long nights when it just needs to be sharpened and oiled and properly cleaned like the naughty little things they are--"

Okay, that could be considered just a bit dirty.

"--I mean, tell everyone about your weaponry! Think of this as... the Miss Inter-Dimensional Weapon Pageant. Who will win? Will there be a talent portion of the contest?!"

No. No there would not be.

"So jump on in and say why your weapon is better than everyone else's. Argue like the dickens, baby. But nothing more than that or I will make your like a living hell and Anakin seem like the nicest guy on island, got it?" Deadpool clapped happily. "Lets get going!"

Show and tell was the most awesome thing ever.

Zack plucked his sword from his back, holding it up for the people in the class to see. It was about four feet of pointy death, and he loved it so!

"This is a standard-issue SOLDIER sword, given to 2nd and 3rd class members of SOLDIER back where I'm from. They're pretty sturdy, but I've still been through a few of them. Sometimes it's easy to go over-the-top and break them in practise, you know? When I get promoted to first, I'll get the option of choosing my own sword, but I'll probably just stick with something like this until something better comes along."

Yeah. The kid broke solid steel in practise by accident. And he was holding this thing up with one hand like it was nothing. It was perhaps a very good thing that he loved everyone ever. He was also a showoff. And that was why he was giving it a one-handed twirl before setting it onto his back again.

Illyria's answer was somewhat grumpy. Not that anyone could tell. "I no longer possess enough arms to properly wield my blades of choice. This one, however, will do in their absence."

It was... let's just say it could hold its own in an innuendo duel with Zack's.

Firekeeper shrugged and held up her sword. "My sword is just sword," she said. "One of many Earl Kestrel outfit his men with." One hand drifted to the Fang at her side once she set the sword down. The dagger was her real pride and joy.

"My sword is a lightsaber," Zayne said. He held onto the hilt and turned it on, slowly, causing a shimmering blade to extend to a pretty impressive length. "They can cut through pretty much anything and come in different colors. Building a lightsaber is part of the training for a Jedi. And if you know what you're doing, you can use different kinds of crystals in the hilt to produce different effects. Sometimes you can increase the power, or make them more effective against droids and energy shields, or change the focus of the blade to make it better at deflecting blaster shots. Stuff like that."

Really, once you went lightsaber, you never went back.

"Don't have a sword, but this is my favourite knife," Jo said, pulling it out from her boot. "Pure iron, so it doesn't really have the tensile strength of good steel, but it makes it more effective against ghosts and a lot of those nasty bump in the night things than steel would be."

"I," Arthur announced, "Carry an arming sword of Camelot's make. Made by our blacksmith to fine balance as befitting a knight of the kingdom. There are few swords," although there was one in a lake somewhere, "Better designed for dueling or taking lives in battle."

Yes, Arthur was fond of his sword. Why do you ask?

"This... is a bat'leth. A common sword among my people," Worf said holding it aloft in all its shiny glory. "It has an advantage over a normal sword as it can be use one or two-handed. Since it is double bladed one end can be used to block and then the other used to stab your opponent."

Worf seemed to be really getting into it.

"It is less of a sword than a extension of your own arm," he said demonstrating the movement. "And extension that can stab."

You mentioned that part Worf.

"And slash," he said doing another quick maneuver before realizing he was obsessing just a tad.

"It's very efficient," he said quickly and then shut up.

The sword (http://www.cbswords.com/images/88VS.gif) Kennedy had with her today wasn't the same one she'd brought to Wellspring to spar with Worf last week. This one was shorter, lighter, and better suited to her: at about 30 inches the blade was balanced well for the hack-and-slash style she knew, and her hands were small enough that she could get a two-handed grip on the hilt.

Stupid rich kid. Kennedy wouldn't understand the kind of attachment some of the other students had to their swords. This one was functional and all that, but it was just part of the small collection she had in the weapons locker, to her.

"I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but I'm pretty comfortable with this one."

Fiona pulled out her yo-yo before tugging out the string. She ran her hand along it and willed an edge to it, which left the string standing taunt.

"It was given to me by my uncle Aaron and I can cut anything with it, if I need to."

Seregil drew his sword, the metal catching the light in the room. "This was gifted to me by my uncle," he said softly. "He's the master swordmaker of our clan and it was made specifically for me. I've had it long enough that it rather feels like another limb. The quillions around the guard," he pointed out the two dragonsheads that decorated the sword were metal met grip and were notched and a little worn, "can be used to catch an opponent's blade and either break it or disarm him, if one knows what they're doing."

Triela reached behind her back to where she had a sheathe belted on horizontally and drew her weapon. "This is an M1917 bayonet (http://www.lawranceordnance.com/lawrance-ordnance/images/bayonets/m17.jpg)." The blade was actually long enough to qualify it as a short sword. "It is significantly longer than most modern bayonets as it is not designed to double as a utility knife. This provides both reach and leverage advantages."

She had never really loved the thing, but she had found a new sort of appreciation for it after her fight with Pinocchio.

"I've got a flamberge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flame-bladed_sword)," Eric explained, demonstrating the wave-edged blade. "I had it custom-made, so it's a little bit smaller; I usually use it with a long dagger in my off-hand, for parrying."

Y'know. For the whole two months he'd been practicing.

"This is much better than a sword," Mat said, holding out what looked like a black carved quarterstaff with a sword blade stuck to the top of it. The blade was carved with images of raven, and there was an inscription in the Old Tongue written along the staff. "It's called an ashandarei, and it's at least three thousand years old."

Generally because power-wrought blades hadn't been made since the Age of Legends, and none of the ones created during the Trolloc Wars would have found their way into the Aiel Waste, where Mat had picked up his weapon.

Yuffie stood and pulled her fūma shuriken from its harness on her back, giving Zack's sword a dirty look as she did.

"This is a fūma shuriken, and it's actually my basic one, the one I've had the longest and trained the most with. It acts like a boomerang when thrown, but it also works well in close range if I have to stab someone." Yes, stab. With one and a half foot long blades on a weapon that is almost as big as she is.

"My ultimate weapon is called Conformer, but I don't have it here at Fandom with me."
