Ethics & Etiquette - 1st Period, 8/17

It was the last class of the semester and therefore... the most fun. Because after this? There could be boozing. Well, boozing for one of the teachers. The other was too much of a white hat. Loooooser.

"Good mornin' kids! Welcome to your final," Deadpool said, far too cheerful for the time of day.

Their other teacher, who was in fact a total white hat who would not be boozing after this, also looked far too cheerful for this time of the morning. He usually looked like that, though. "I've provided breakfast, if Wade hasn't eaten it all," Steve said, gesturing to a handwavey assortment of pastries from J,GoB. If Deadpool hadn't eaten them all.

"I only had five donuts!" Don't judge his over eating!

"Oh, well, then there should be plenty left!" Steve would never judge! "We've enjoyed having you in our class this term, haven't we, Wade, and we hope you've learned some important lessons you'll take out into the real world."

Deadpool nodded like a proud parent on graduation day. "You've all grown up so fast. Hold me, Steve! I think I'm gonna cry!"

Steve sidled surreptitiously away from Deadpool, eyeing him nervously. "There...there?"

"You're a cruel man." Deadpool sniffed away those proud tears and held up a stack of papers. "Test tiiiiiime."

"It's just a simple quiz," Steve reassured them. "I'm sure you'll all do fine. Just remember, ask yourself what we would do." And then, he hoped, do the opposite of what Deadpool would do.

Raven still wasn't sure what this class was supposed to have taught her, but she listened attentively and hoped she would do well on the test.

Zack... was a puppy. This was not going to stop him from writing his final in Ethics class, darn it.

He was going to munch on a pastry in the most well-behaved puppy manner possible. And then he was going to figure out how in the world he was going to hold a pen.

And then, maybe, he'd chase his tail a few times, for good measure.

Ooh, donuts. Rose happily helped herself to a chocolate one before turning her attention to this quiz.

So unfair. Why were there quizzes in the summer?

Ooh, pastry. Bobby and sugar was an excellent combination as far as he was concerned.

As far as everyone else was concerned was another matter.

Diana munched on pastry, not too worried about the quiz.

Hannibal snagged some food and sat down to eat it as slowly as possible before he had to take the quiz.

Pastries were good. Quizzes, not so much. But, hey, last week of classes.

Tara snagged a cherry danish and ate it slowly. She tried not to be too nervous about the test.

Even an entire summer living here hadn't cured Emma of her habit of taking advantage of free food at every opportunity. She was a growing girl, darn it!

She grabbed donuts to go with her coffee and set about enjoying her breakfast, not listening too terribly hard to the teachers.

Ellie honestly did not think a quiz in this class would be hard, so she wasn't too worried. So she was pretty content as she snagged a donut.

Elle snagged a blueberry muffin, smiling at her teachers. She truly did enjoy this class.

5) I have learned that I should not do anything as Professor Deadpool instructs. His ways seem designed to provoke controversy and dismay from others.

1) c. Are we sure she needs help across the street? Because I've tried that once before, and I got smacked with a purse upside the head because she'd just finished crossing the street and didn't need to go back.

2) c. I think I'm supposed to say a but to be honest it'd probably be b if I were left to my own devices.

3) c. Again, I'd like to say a but my neighbourhood seems to show a disturbing trend towards "form a lynch mob".

4) b. I know it's wrong but it's funny.

Zack was totally going to write the test. He was! It was there, and it was quiz-shaped, and...

...

He was going to have to ask, later, if "I ate my own homework" was a valid excuse for a re-write, yes.

It was possible that most of the chew-marks fell under "A," though.

1. A, unless she starts hitting me. Or hitting on me. Then flee.
2. A, and then yell at sister to do the same thing.
3. B. And eye roll.
4. A. I tried the vegetarian thing. I'm still trying the vegetarian thing.
5. Deadpool is insane but gives excellent advice.

1) C - It depends on where I am. If I'm across three lanes of busy traffic, trying to get across to help her might be more harm than good.
2) C - It all goes in the trashcan, no matter what it is.
3) C - Most of the time, I don't do anything. If it's a friend of mine, they'll get a pat on the back or something.
4) C - Be respectful but I'm cooking steaks, they'd better bring their own salad.
5) I learned that even with two different viewpoints, people can coexist without killing each other and even teach a class. And that listening to each other is important.

2) A

3) C It depends on the circumstances.

4) A

5) I've learned that the school has very easy hiring standards for teachers.

1.) A
2.) A
3.) C: Honor them if they seem like the type who wants to be noticed and praised for that kind of stuff, but otherwise leave them alone and praise what they're doing privately.
4.) A: Especially if the vegetarian is my girlfriend. Otherwise she might force me to go Ultra-Recylco-Vegetarian again.

Danny figured he probably should try and take the essay seriously, since he'd sort of goofed around with the multiple choice.
5.) I learned that being polite and responsible and not acting like Professor Wilson does will get you much further in life, and will make others like being around you more. I also learned how to properly eat and dance with others.

1. A, unless she smells funny or seems crazy. Then I leave her be and feel sad.

2. A

3. A. Except I don't so much "honor them" as "feel really good they're around."

4. A

5. I learned that there's more than one way to do most things, but sometimes there's only one right way.
