BWI - Portalocity Lounge [Friday Morning]

Chloe got off her flight from New York and followed the signs to the lounge. She dumped the duffle bag of clothes that Andrew had hastily purchased on the floor and slumped into one of the uncomfortable airport chairs.

She was still against this plan but she realized on the flight that sulking wouldn't make it any better so she was going to put on a brave face and make the most of it.

Elle and her hips sashayed slowly up to join the other students heading to Fandom; her three inch jeweled heels soft upon the thin, airport carpet. She was dressed head to toe in smooth, curve hugging, boob enhancing, pink leather. And she was smiling brightly, encouraging Bruiser who was tucked into the curve of her arm.

"Isn't this fun, Bruiser? Don't be scared; everyone looks super nice."

"Your dog looks very sweet," Layla said smiling at Elle and Bruiser.

"How nice of you to say so," replied Elle, smiling at the other girl. "I'm Elle Woods and this is Bruiser Woods, who is super sweet, just as he looks."

"Nice to meet you," Layla said with a grin. "I'm Layla Miller. I know stuff."

"What a pretty name, Layla," Elle commented nicely. "You know stuff. I know stuff. Everyone here knows stuff." If it was a odd thing to say, that expression didn't show itself on Elle's face. She just continued to smile.

Layla chuckled a bit at that. "They certainly do. Looking forward to going to school at Fandom?"

"Omigod, yes," she replied with a tiny bounce. Too big a bounce could hurt the boobs. "Are you?"

"Oh yes," Layla replied cheerfully. "There's so many friends I haven't met yet. Or have met but they haven't met me yet. Plus I'll occasionally get to see my future husband from another alternate universe. Granted he's with a ninja but eventually I'll end with his AU counterpart so seeing him will be nice. Anything you're looking forward to seeing?"

Elena couldn't decide if the other girl was some sort of walking parody of commercialism, or if she had embraced it past where she cared about such things. She was either thoroughly shallow or very clever. Possibly both.

"I wouldn't have expected his name to be 'Bruiser,' she volunteered.

"Hi!" Was the first thing she said, and said cheerfully at that. Then she chuckled and gave Bruiser nose kisses. "He has a big heart. Would you like to hold him?"

"Hi," Elena laughed. She couldn't help it, the bubbling was somewhat contagious. "Is he a fighter, or is it one of those ironic nicknames, like the fat guy everyone calls 'Slim'?"

She walked closer, but didn't have her arms out for the puppy just yet. She was going to wait for the answer to that, first.

"Exactly like that," she confirmed with a laugh of her own. "Building confidence no matter how big or small, is always positive. And Bruiser does appreciate his name." His small Tiffany's ID collar with his name engraved on it, proved it. "Oh, but no. He's definitely no fighter. He's sweet and harmless."

"You never know," Elena said. "Sometimes the small ones have the most fight. They're scrappy, and they don't give up easily."

That applied more frequently to junkyard dogs than chihuahuas, but Elena figured it was universal.

She held her hands out to the dog, smiling. "You wouldn't mind?"

"What a sad thing to think," she said, her tone quiet. "If a small one has too fight to prove that he's bigger and badder, then where is the happy life that's supposed to be his if he's always having to look over his shoulder?"

Elle logic was more innocent than it was worldly.

"Not at all," she smiled, genuinely and handed Bruiser over.

"Maybe he only has to fight the once," Elena reasoned, taking the puppy carefully, "and then, afterwards, everyone knows not to mess with him, and they leave him alone."

It didn't seem likely. The world wasn't usually so kind. But perhaps it would reassure the other girl.

She raised her brows, smiled. "Oh, I see your point. I never thought of it like that and I hope it is just as you say. But then Bruiser is always with me so I suppose my nature is to protect him first." She should really think about all those other little dogs out there.

"I don't think I got your name?"

Chloe was watching her through her hair and had to admit she had never seen anyone that flamboyant. Not even at her performing arts school.

She gave the other girl a shy wave.

Elle smiled cheerfully at the other girl, seeing her wave, and felt it her civic duty as a fellow student to saunter over and announce with a genuine perkiness that made up her personality: "Hi! I'm Elle Woods, and this is Bruiser Woods. You have gorgeous colors in your hair."

"C-Chloe," she said softly, smiling shyly. "And thank you." She looked at Bruiser. "He's c-cute."

"What a pretty name, Chloe. Bruiser appreciates your compliment, thank you. Would you like to hold him? He's super sweet," Elle replied easily, recognizing the shy quietness in the other girl.

Elle loves making new friends! She would be totally happy with that! "Sure you can! He's such an easy, adorable dog," she said, handing him over gently. "I just know you two will be fast friends!"

Chloe may have been tiny for her age and shy -- and scared of a few things -- but she wasn't scared when it came to animals. When Elle handed over the small dog, she held him quietly for a moment so that she wouldn't scare him, and then started petting him gently.

"H-he's s-so sweet."

Aw, Elle's heart immediately went out to this girl and she gingerly sat down next to her. "He is super sweet and he loves people. He trembles now and again but he's totally fine. What grade are you in, Chloe?"
