Library [01/28]

Sam was very glad to have power for his library shift this week, as much as he'd enjoyed finding...alternative ways to stay warm. He'd gotten up early enough to manage a stop for coffee on his way in, and was already halfway done with the cup by the time he got the doors open.

Sam got settled in as he finished his coffee and arranged everything on the desk to be where he liked it all to be.

Sam took some time to check his e-mail and a good handful of alternative news blogs to see what people had decided was important to complain about today.

To recover brain cells from looking at the internet for too long, Sam went into the stacks in search of some light reading. Well, light to him, at least.

Sam had cookies to share with Dean, and with anyone else who decided to come by for lunch.

Dean came in with a bag of sandwiches and took his usual chair. "So no one been in bothering you today?"

"Hello to you too, Dean," Sam said, looking very close to rolling his eyes.

"Hey, just looking out for you," Dean said. "Part of my job."

"That was just a pleasure," Dean said with a smug smile.

Sam sighed. "You shouldn't have done that. What if he'd gotten you into trouble?" The idea of Chuck beating Dean up in return never really crossed his mind.

Dean shrugged. "He didn't. Doesn't have the guts."

"Or you just got lucky," Sam replied. "You don't have to beat people up just because they bother me. If he really bugged me that much, I would have taken care of him myself."

"Dude, he was only bugging you because you're my brother," Dean pointed out. "That makes it my business."

Fourth Period [01/28]

With everything from lunch put away, Sam was back at the desk with his book, spinning a little in the chair as he read.

Peter came in and looked for Sam. "Isn't that going to make you dizzy?"

"Maybe if I do it faster," Sam said, smiling at Peter's arrival. "I'll just have to find someone to make me feel better if it does."

"Someone?" Peter asked, his eyebrows quirking up. "You'd better mean me."

"Of course. I don't know anyone else who can make me feel better like you do," Sam said.

"Just for that you can have coffee and donuts," Peter said, putting them on the counter.

Sam grinned at the smell of the coffee and went right for it. "Thank you," he said, taking a sip. "So, how's the practicing going?"

Sam took a quick sweep through the library to make sure everything was clean before he had to head out.
