Lily looks up from her desk as Paige walks in. She smiles at the newcomer.

Paige smiles, "hey Lily."

"Hi Paige. It's good to see you here." Lily gestures to the empty seat next to her.

Paige sits down next to Lily, "Yeah I was gonna join when the semester started but it got filled up really quickly and well this topic sounded like something I could talk about."

"Did you enjoy hoemcoming?"

Lily's getting better at controlling her blushing, but it's still there.

Paige grins, "Yeah I had a great time, I didn't think Geoff, my boyfriend, would be able to make it, but he did. So yeah it was more fun than I was expecting actually."

"That's great! Geoff seems really nice."

Paige trys not to beam without much luck, "He really is. Do you believe in fate Lily?"

"Sometimes," Lily says. "Some things just feel right, but then some days I just think I'm being all girly about that sort of thing, you know?"

Paige laughs, "I know exactly what you mean, but when you suddenly come to a wierd school and meet a famous poet from like six hundred years ago and fall in love you have to wonder don't you. I mean it can't just be a coincedence"

Lily smiles at Paige's enthusiasm. "Seems like part of a bigger-picture plan to me."

Paige smiles back suddenly feeling very girly, but not in an entirely bad way. "Yeah that's what we figure!"

Draco walks in and after winking at Lily, sits down in the seat in front of her.

Lily smiles at Draco and feels very relieved. She hadn't heard from him since the dance and was starting to worry that she had done something wrong.

Draco turns around in his seat and says something about alcohol loudly before leaning in to whisper to Lily.
"Sorry I've been kind of quiet lately. Elections y'know. At this point it doesn't matter if I get elected or not, I just want this thing to be over with!" he says with a smile

Lily looks concerned and whispers back, "oh, I know you must be incredibly busy with all of that on top of your studies and everything." Lily smiles again. "There's no turning back now, though - tonight's the night, and then you can relax again!" She pauses, biting her lower lip. "By the way, I really had a wonderful time Friday night..."

My hearing is excellent, Malfoy, and while I don't mind whispering in class, it's disappointing that you think you can fool me so easily. Whisper by all means, but don't kid yourself that I don't know you're doing it.

*He pours himself another glassful, from a different bottle*

Draco gives an "Is he drunk?" look before putting on a humble face.

"Well sir, when people get too much alcohol in them they do things that I'm sure even they wouldn't have imagined doing sober. Though I am sure you are able to hold you liqour better than most people."

Me? Hold my liquor? He looks at the bottle in his hand. I seem to be doing fine.

He furrows his brow briefly

Ah, you mean managaging to drink without exhibitating the deleterious effects of excess. I think it's only fair to point out that I'm completely unfamiliar with alcohol, and have no way to gauge my likely levels of tolerance.

He looks at the bottle again.

Is this one mine?
