Phys Ed: Week 3, Period 2 (9/19)

When students entered the Danger Shop this week, rather than a gym, they would find themselves transported to a lush green hillside. With a whole bunch of sheep.

As usual, Ronon started talking when he felt like it. "Okay, today you'll work with a partner to shear some sheep. Mc-my teammate said this is a traditional gym class for the Scottish people. Call it cultural gym or somethin.'" Ronon gestured to an area with all the necessary equipment for the process. "Grab some tools and some instructions and get started."

Ronon stopped himself from turning away. "Don't forget to dress out. Locker rooms are right behind you." Ronon himself was again wearing his standard leather ensemble.

"You've got to be kidding me," she muttered vilely, waiting around with her arms crossed for a partner.

Francine was saying something similar as she walked over and gave Ino a wave, but probably a little less bitterly. "This is exercise?"

"Well," Ino said, scowling at the sheep. "They probably aren't exactly enthusiastic 'bout someone taking their fur."

Francine studied the sheep, not exactly certain what fake-season they were really in. "They would be if it was summer; it gets hot."

That, Ino felt, was ridiculously optimistic. "I doubt anyone or thing would appreciate being grabbed by people and have their fur stripped from them."

"Well, enthusiastic might be going a little far," Francine agreed. "But they didn't really throw a fit about it when I saw it done when I was little."

That got a sideways glance. "On the bright side," Ino said determinedly, "It's just a fake."

She could kill it if it put up a fuss. Ino did not care if that lost her marks.

Francine eyed it dubiously. "A big fake. You think we're strong enough to hold it still?"

"Who knows?" Ino shrugged. "I'm stronger than I look though."

"Glad one of us is." Francine took a tentative step toward the animal. "Here, sheepie, sheepie..."

She snickered, as she carefully starting moving towards the sheep. "Sheepie, sheepie, sheepie?"

The maaaaah that followed sounded as nervous of them as Francine, frankly, was of the sheep. It didn't start running, though, which was good. Right?

"Gooood sheepie." Yes, for once, she was totally aware of how dumb she sounded.

It was definitely good. Ino smiled reassuringly at the sheep, offering her hand to it smell, or whatever. What did sheep do? It wasn't like she'd noticed before.

"I'm not saying that," she muttered, inching closer.

"Meeeeeeh," replied the sheep. ~~*sheepmods*~~

"I think, um." Francine glanced at the instructions again, then tucked them into the waistband of her shorts. "We're supposed to grab it under the chin?" She'd lived in the country when she was little, but not actually on a sheep farm.

"I have no idea," she said, "but alright, chin grabbing."

...

"That sounds weird."

"They're kind of..." Francine lowered her voice. "Really dumb?" Because really dumb sheep totally understood English. "So if you grab them under the chin and pull their head up, they fall over."

...

"...Seriously?"

That was even dumber than Naruto, and that was saying something.

"It throws them off balance, I think." Not that Francine would have any reason to sympathize with that issue. Could she seriously grab a sheep, though? That was a different question.
