"When I first arrived, we were in Antarctica," Angela supplied helpfully. "And I'd just travelled the few hours here from DC by car."

Robin's appearance probably wouldn't help matters. But there was a small fuzzy frog carrying a small guitar passing by. He waved cheerfully to Joan. "Hi there! I'm Robin, what's your name?"

The frog was still there.

"There is a cat boy from another planet, here, with hair like mine." Lola came up next to Joan, nibbling on a carrot. "And a robot from space. And my big sibling says not to let gremlins bite you. How is your day?"

"My big sibling told me that the island moved, I met two boys who look alike but don't know each other and there's a talking frog and a unicorn around," Joan replied.

"Are you new?" Alice asked, nodding at the other girl. "It's quite possible you aren't, as I've yet to meet everyone. If you are, I highly recommend the s'mores they make at the campfires."

"There's a deck by the dorms," Alice explained. "And we all had cabins for the summer, though not the entire summer, and we had different cabins to start and finish. Alice Liddell."

Some day, Alice would learn that abruptly blurting out her name did not count as an introduction.

"Man, people here are good at spotting the new folks," Joan remarked, wondering if all of the boys at this school were models in their spare time or something.

"It's a fairly small student population," Dean said. "You get to know faces. Also, people all tend to have the same shellshocked appearance when they first get here. I'm Dean, by the way."
