And over here was another section of tables and chairs, still close to the food so no one accidentally starved while trying to avoid the masses.

More eating and drinking and causing of trauma!

The amount of love I have for this day is inversely proportional to how much my inbox loves it. Silly inbox.

The picnic hadn't been bad so Ned was still there, leaning against a tree and looking a little more relaxed.

Newbie picnic thing.

Warren supposed that he might as well but forth the slightest effort at being social. By being outside, and somewhere near the picnic. If anyone asked any more of him than that, he was going to look at them grumpily.

As you do.

He'd found his way up a sturdy looking tree and was watching the goings-on in the park with interest. That was the best anyone was going to get out of him today.

At least he was outside, in public, of his own volition?

[Stuck here with a warning of nil availability until late this evening.]

Anemone retreated from the hubbub of the crowds with a scowl. A year. Just over a year, and she still got freaked out by the numbers of people at the picnic.

Holding tightly to Gulliver, she took refuge under one of the large trees to glare at anyone that came too close.

Oh, hey. It was that sadistic girl who liked strange fortune cookie fortunes.

Maybe Warren would socialize with her. A little. Kinda.

"Fewer people actually up the tree," he called down, patting a spot on the branch he was sitting on.

Alec had had a late start this morning, but he couldn't miss the newbie picnic completely!

Traditions had to be upheld, shirtlessness had to be shared. It was his duty, yo.

So with nametag in place, he wandered the picnic with a grin for everyone.

"That's because most people are too afraid of falling," she shot back, before actually looking up to see who it was. "Oh. You. Hey."

Bumblebee had felt a slight bit hesitant about attending, but he remembered how people had reacted last time and decided it would be nice to greet the new students - those who weren't used to him would meet him now, and he liked the excitement of the big gathering even if he couldn't join in massacring the buffet.

Warren gave a bit of a nod in greeting, the slightest of bemused smirks on his lips.

"Don't tell me you're afraid of heights," he replied in his usual, somewhat dry tone. "Guess that means I'm going to have to sit up here throwing acorns at the freshmen and newbies all on my own."

That got a sharp peal of laughter. "I once jumped out of my cockpit while in the stratosphere," she said, placing Gulliver on the ground so she could climb up after him. "Heights are not an issue."

Warren chuckled and scooted down a little farther on his branch to make room.

"Now that's a long drop," he mused, looking down at the picnic. Blegh, people. "You're a pilot, then?"

Ichigo was still there and... wishing he'd find Ino so he could get his shirt back. He liked that shirt, dammit.

So yes, Ichigo was still there and shirtless too. Stuipd Ino.

"Uh-huh." Anemone swung her legs, following his gaze. How could they all herd together like that? "Not so much here, it's all limited to classes, which is kinda dumb. Not to mention booooooooooring."

Blair was still in her best school hostess mode. There would be plenty of time for destroying the newbies who didn't please her later on, when no adults were watching.

Lola couldn't help but grin back. And, well. Admire.

"Guten Morgen."

Peter had snacks and nowhere to be, so he kicked back and kept an eye out for any newbies who looked particularly lost.

"The closest I've ever been to flying was the school bus back home," Warren mused, resisting the urge to pluck a stick and light it. "Maybe I should have taken that flying class, this semester."

"School bus?" Anemone wrinkled her nose in confusion. "Like, the yellow things? Those can fly?"

Lola was getting into the groove of this whole meeting people thing. She headed over to the guy leaning against the tree.

"Hi."

~~Completely unaware of the trauma awaiting in the other post~~ Jo grinned when she saw Alec was also shirtless. "Hey."

"Hey," Ned said, happy that that hadn't sounded forced or flaily at all. "How's it going? Uh, with the new stuff and all."

Lola blinked and stared.

A robot. That was very cool.

"It goes well." Lola winced, knowing that wasn't quite the right answer to that question. "I mean, 'fine'. I'm Lola."

"I'm Ned," he said, giving her a small smile. "Not overwhelming or anything? It was pretty overwhelming for me."
