Summer Fitness [Period 2, Friday]

As the class assembled at the Danger Shop, they were greeted by an entirely too-chipper Bond, and some very pretty scenery that would in no way have looked familiar to any members of the class if they were around.

"So," he began, once everyone had arrived. "I thought we'd have a relatively simple class today, and do a spot of cross-country running. Not a race though, it doesn't matter what order you finish the course in, so long as you finish." There, that wasn't in the least bit ominous.

"So, if you'll just slip the back-packs on, and follow me, that would be great."

...wait, back-packs?

[Please wait for OCD up!]

"Only if you can't handle it."

"Oh, quiet, Fanbutt," Cal said. "You at least have something up front to balance the weight out."

He gave her a quick glance.

"Kind of."

"Looking at my breasts now, Sparkles?" Temari asked dryly.

"Only to make a point; don't flatter yourself."

"Don't you go to a gym? You should be fine."

No, he really shouldn't, but that wasn't the point.

"Go? Fanbutt." Cal gave her a dubious look. "I practically live there."

Temari tried her best to look innocent at that look. "So shouldn't you stamina be up for this?"

"I never said I didn't," Cal said, simply, tugging on the straps of the backpacks. "I was just concerned about the unbalanced distribution of weight. Probably not as much of a concern for those of you closer to the ground, down wind and everything."

Rolling her eyes, Temari did the responsible and mature thing and-- pushed him.

No one could prove it was her. Really.

One of the last things Cal had been expecting (perhaps stupidly), was to be pushed. "He--" He stumbled back a little, before his arms started to work in the vain attempt to work against the gravity pulling him (and the pack) back, and the next thing he knew, he landed straight on his skinny butt with a small grunt from the impact.

He blinked.

"See what I mean?"

"I do. Taller people are easier to knock down," She replied with a smirk, offering him her hand to get up.

Well, at least she offered to help without him having to nag at her for it. He grinned a little, taking her hand and planting his feet on the ground to help anchor him. "Taller, skinnier people," he pointed out. It's like a feather in the wind."

Taking a firm grip on his hand, she pulled to help him along. "Then you learn to move with it."

If only it were that easy. He'd really only been aware of what his body was for two years now. Still, Temari would find not difficulty at all in pulling Cal up, even with the height difference; he was able to help himself quite a bit, though, too, drawn up close by her assistance. "Easy for you to say," he commented, grinning down at her. "There's less for you to learn."

"I started young," Temari replied with a small smile that wasn't entirely happy until she added: "Sparkles."

"What, growing?" Cal asked with a smirk. "Didn't get very far."

He gave her shoulder a light, playful shove for good measure; it was barely anything, but it could make them even, so to speak. Especially since he ended it with a nice, simple, "Fanbutt."

Aww, he'd missed this lately.

"I'm a perfectly normal height for my home," Temari informed him loftily.

"You're not home, though," Cal pointed out. "But," he added, "I was used to be taller than everyone else for a while, too; it was embarrassing back then, though, so now I've earned my right to tower over all you little ninjas."

There was a thoughtful sort of pause.

"Probably easy to be a sneaky ninja when you're not all tall and clumsy."

[identity profile] not-fangirl.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"You just have to make sure you don't need to hide," Temari replied. "Use the height and usually additional strength to your advantage."

[identity profile] not-a-mused.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Or?" Cal offered. "Hide only where there are tall trees with branches that shorter people can't reach."

Re: Put on the Backpacks - SF [Week 3]

[identity profile] not-fangirl.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Temari laughed. "Didn't you know? Ninja can walk up trees and on water."

[identity profile] not-a-mused.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
That did leave Cal at a little bit of an impasse. "Well," he said, and then paused. For a very, very long time.

"Good for them."

That was all he had, really.

Patting him on the arm, Temari shook her head. "Basic training for ninja."

[identity profile] not-a-mused.livejournal.com 2008-07-25 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
The arm-patting got a little bit of a dull, narrow-eyed look. "So, you can walk on water, then?" he asked, casually, with perhaps a bit of challenge in his voice. If she could, he wanted to see it.

"I can," She replied, chin high as she smirked.
