The Danger Shop was set up like the Salle. The main difference was the giant Satedan in the center of the room, going through a complicated practice routine with a bokutō blade. When they arrived, he stopped and approached the group with a feral smile, spinning the wooden sword in his hand as he spoke.

"Today we're sword fighting. If it's your first fight, there's a handout for you. First thing to know about sword fighting: keep your eyes straight ahead. Focus on the enemy. Never ever look away from your enemy. It shows weakness. Are you weak?" He stared down a couple students in particular as he paced the floor in front of them all. "Second thing: You’ve gotta anticipate the enemy's next move. Always be ready. I'll give you a minute to look at the papers." Ronon stepped away, preparing to instruct them on how this was going to go down.

Grab a bokutō/wooden practice blade and face Ronon. He's not going to go easy on anyone.

It'd been a while since he had sparred with a sword, but Jamie picked up the practice sword and went through a couple practiced parries, thrusts and ripostes before taking a stance.

"Pointy end goes toward you, right?" He joked.

Hopefully he remembered all of Inigo's lessons.

Ronon shook his head, his eyes not wavering from Jamie as he held his wooden sword ready.

"You sure you wanna do this?"

Helen knew she wasn't anywhere near skilled enough to go up against Ronon, but she also didn't want him to think she was afraid to do so.

She also had never been particularly good at backing down from a challenge.

Ronon swung the bokutō into a ready position. "How'd I know you'd be next?"

Gwen wasn't exactly going to let a chance to try and beat up Ronon pass her by.

Friday picked up one of the practice blades and, clearly not knowing how to hold it properly, waited for his turn against the teacher.

"Time out," Ronon said, lowering his bokutō and moving to stand next to Friday. "Hold your sword with both hands, like this." He showed him what he meant. "Keep the blade up."

Johnny picked up a practice blade and stepped up, prepared to take his teacher down. Or you know, try.

Ronon swung his bokutō up into the ready position. "You ever used a blade?" It had become necessary to ask.

Inara selected a practice blade with care and waited patiently for her turn, taking the opportunity to center herself and become as aware of her surroundings as she could.

When her time came, she didn't say anything, but raised her sword and nodded politely to Ronon. False bravado on her part would do nothing but give him an advantage.

Ronon nodded in return, choosing to take the defense and wait for her to either make a move or look away.

Andrew had been working on his confidence. Judging by how he was feeling at the moment, staring at the practice blade in his hand and asking himself over and over why he had thought this was a good idea, he had a lot of work left to do.

Ronon raised an eyebrow at the kid who'd nearly drowned rather than take action on the boat. "You got any experience with this?"

Like Jaina wouldn't go up against the teacher. She knew she'd probably lose badly, but at least she was pretty sure she could at least put up a fight. As soon as she was up, she immediately went into a starting position.

Noting that she at least knew how to handle the bokutō, Ronon approached the mat, twirling the wooden blade over his hand before moving into a ready position. "Done this before?"

Teyla had no intention of not going up against Ronon. In addition to seeing how well she could hold her own against someone older and stronger, she really wanted to see what he was capable of.

Ronon smirked when Teyla joined him on the mat. Prowling a circle around her, he held his bokutō ready for her attack.

Rodney was trying to hide without looking like he was trying to hide. He had one of the practice blades and he was swinging it around in an attempt to imitate some of the other students so that he would look like he was very busy indeed. He was also staying towards the edge of the room and hoping that once everyone else had gone, it would look like he'd had a turn as well. Cunning plans were not Rodney's forte.

"McKay, front and center," Ronon growled the words but was secretly amused that McKay never really changed.

Sokka swung the blade around a few times to get the feel of it, and then fenced an imaginary opponent for a bit -- he had plenty of panache, but no visible skill.

After a bit, he walked up to Ronan and tried to size him up. If he was going to have any chance at ALL, he'd need to rely on his smaller size and hope he was the faster of the two.

Ronon stared Sokka down. It wasn't likely his speed would help him, but if he wanted to run in little circles all day, Ronon wouldn't stop him. "We doin' this?"

Alec wasn't exactly amazing with a sword, but he'd had a few classes. He hefted the bokuto with a thoughtful expression and waited for the teacher.

Dick hadn't really done much swordwork with Bruce. Sure, he had the basics down, but after that he tended towards blunt weapons and projectiles.

He kind of regretted that decision now, but he was still going to go for it. In the worst case, rely on speed and agility.
