Once she'd got her bearings, Angela finally settled in to the mingling. This was her idea of a good time.

... The weather wasn't, really. It'd been fine to a point, but that point was quickly being reached. She could've sworn it was gorgeous out when she left DC, now her t-shirt and skirt weren't looking like such a smart option. How could it be so damn cold in mid-summer?

Still, she clutched her hot chocolate, tried not to seem cold as she looked around the place, and smiled hopefully at anyone who met her gaze.

Savannah smiled back at the new girl. "It's not always this cold," she offered.

"Really?" Angela said hopefully. She gave a little sigh of relief. "Thank God."

"No one warned me the coast of America was like Antarctica."

She nodded. "Definitely worth it. There's a couple of places you can get clothing in town." She extended her hand. "I'm Savannah, by the way. Welcome to Fandom."

John smiled pleasantly at the girl, not feeling very cold himself but he was still wearing his shirt for once and that might have been part of it. "It's always nice to see smiling new arrivals."

"It's mostly to stop me thinking about the incoming ice age," she said with a grin. She as only partially kidding.

"Cold?" Seregil asked with a smile, holding out his jacket. Not that he didn't feel the cold himself, but it had turned out he had dressed far more warmly than he had needed to because of it.

Angela wasn't about to pass up a coat from a cute guy. "Thanks." She smiled brightly at him.

"It was the middle of a heatwave when I left home," she said. "Wasn't expecting icebergs."

"The unexpected around here is pretty much commonplace," Seregil said. "The island's decided to go adventuring this summer and has been... travelling. We're currently off the coast of a place called Antarctica. Where it's very very cold."

"People keep saying that, like its normal." Angela shook her head. "Cool as this place seems, I can't quite get my head around that one."

"It's not normal for anywhere else I've been, but it's normal here," Seregil explained. "There's a lot you can say that about."

"You would be advised to wear warmer clothing," Worf stated gruffly as he past Angela still wearing his cap (http://images.cabelas.com/is/image/cabelas/s7_950623_imageset_01?$main-Large$) over his head ridges. "The climate here will change every other week or so. Until then it will be cold."

Angela nodded with a resigned smile. "Beginning to wish someone thought to mention that before I dressed this morning."

"Apparently the school lacks the ability to put this information in the brochure or welcoming information," he replied as he cast a disparaging look around the mingling area. "If you do not have cold weather clothing I suggest going to one of the local stores for provisions."

Angela looked at Worf a bit closer. Wow, he had some eyebrows. "It gives me an excuse to shop. Never something I'll complain about."

"Then I recommend Turtle and Canary," Worf said gruffly as he adjusted his cap. "They have most items you would need. There is also a fashion store called the Pixie Dust."
