"Cold?" Seregil asked with a smile, holding out his jacket. Not that he didn't feel the cold himself, but it had turned out he had dressed far more warmly than he had needed to because of it.

Angela wasn't about to pass up a coat from a cute guy. "Thanks." She smiled brightly at him.

"It was the middle of a heatwave when I left home," she said. "Wasn't expecting icebergs."

"The unexpected around here is pretty much commonplace," Seregil said. "The island's decided to go adventuring this summer and has been... travelling. We're currently off the coast of a place called Antarctica. Where it's very very cold."

"People keep saying that, like its normal." Angela shook her head. "Cool as this place seems, I can't quite get my head around that one."

"It's not normal for anywhere else I've been, but it's normal here," Seregil explained. "There's a lot you can say that about."

"I'm Angela," she told him. "I'm new, not like that's a surprise."

"You are definitely good for the anti-freaking," she decided.

Angela fanned herself with the hand that wasn't keeping the jacket over her shoulders.

"So, Seregil... Where you from?" she asked.

"I'm from one of those different lands I mentioned earlier," Seregil told her. "Rhiminee in Skala."

That meant absolutely nothing to Angela, so she came out with the only thing that came to mind under the circumstances, and wasn't a puzzled, 'Huh?'.

"Is it nice there?"
