Punching People and Not Breaking Your Hand: Fighting 101 - Period 5 - [06/23]

Once everyone who wasn't, you know, unconscious was in the classroom, Deadpool nodded at them all seriously.

"Okay, first of all, anyone who was doing any kind of fighting this past weekend-- or researching I guess, even though that's more brainy than fighty, but whatever-- gets an automatic A in the class. You can all thank Jo for asking the question."

Another small nod and he started to pace.

"And since this is our last class-- good god where did the time go?-- we'll be doing something fun," Deadpool told them, gesturing over toward a few video game consoles and televisions. "Today you play a game that is full of fake blood and fatalities and FINISHING HIM."

Yes, that last bit had to be done in a low voice.

"So... FINISH HIM."

Who was conscious. And slightly tired still.

Oh, look, it was Steve, up and about and not at all resting like a sane person with a concussion would do. "Wade," he called from the doorway.

"Shouldn't you be... I dunno... unconscious?"

"I'm a fast healer," Steve said. "Not as fast as some, obviously." Never mind the bruises he still had. He'd had a class to teach. "I wanted to say thanks."

"Well we can't all have Jimmy's wonderful DNA implanted into us via some horrible procedure." A beat. "And no thanks needed. I'll just have the fact that I save Captain America's ass to keep me all warm and toasty at night."

Another beat. "I'm never going to live this down, am I?"

"Not in the slightest!"

Steve shrugged. "Fair enough. I owe you one." There was a scary thought.

A VERY scary thought.

"I'll keep that in mind." A beat. "Maybe you could bring me cake?"

Steve thought about that for a moment. Cake he could do. "What do you want in the cake?"

Ino had been listening to the radio all weekend because, hello, she wasn't stupid enough not to when stuff like that was going on. This would be why she leveled a flat glare at Liir before grinning at Deadpool, holding something behind her back.

"Guess what I've got for you?"

If he was thinking cake and truffles he'd be right.

"...if it's a dead bird, I'mma be so annoyed." A beat. "And confused. Because only Max does that."

"Yeah, no," Ino said, giggling. "Definitely no dead birds. Maybe a lot of chocolate though."

"Oooo! I can support this!"

"Somehow, I rather thought you might," Ino grinned, offering him the containers she'd hid behind her back. "Chocolate truffles, and a fluffy peanut butter chocolate cake. Like you requested."

"...did you buy these or make them?" Because chocolate was srs business if you asked Alton Brown.

Ino frowned at him. "I made them," she said, "just like I've made every cookie I've given you before."

"...you made truffles?"

"I had a weekend of nothing to do but mock monsters and be bored," Ino pointed out, "plenty of time to figure it out."

Deadpool eyed the hair and the fat kid for a moment.

"Apology accepted."

"Yeah, well thanks," John frowned. It wasn't an apology. It was a thank you. There was a difference.

"And I take back the fat comment," Deadpool replied. "You're actually very well proportioned."

He had to remind him. "Maybe I'll keep the cookies then..."

"Too late!" Deadpool snagged the cookies and held them close. Safe from harm.
