Oh look, there were tables and chairs over here too, away from all the informational stuff. Enjoy the food!

Worf had a cup of coffee. Which was completely different from the replicated coffee he was used to drinking.

However he was Klingon and a warrior. One could withstand the difference.

Sokka blinked at Worf. "Oh, yes, very nice, with the" -- he gestured expressively at his own forehead -- "head thing. Are you an alien or a demon?"

Worf glared at the boy. "I am Klingon," he replied sternly.

Apparently that was enough of an explanation for Worf to give.

"...Riiiight. I should have guessed that. 'Cling-on'. Also? Grumpy. Lighten up! Have some food!"

[identity profile] sonofmogh.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"I do not need to 'lighten up'," Worf growled. "I am fine the way I am. Thank you."

Sokka blinked at him, and grinned. "You're not some distant relative of Zuko's, are you? The resemblance is uncanny."

"I am not related to anyone of that name," Worf said gruffly. "I am Worf. Son of Mogh."

Sokka came to attention and bowed formally. "Well met, Worf, son of Mogh. I am Sokka, son of Chief Hakoda, warrior of the Water Tribe. I bid you greetings." He did his best to keep the smirk off his face.

"A pleasure," Worf said dryly. "I did not realize there were still tribes in this century."

Gwen frowned when she saw Worf, hand immediately going for the anti-Weevil spray she didn't have. Not that it looked quite like a Weevil, more like mid-way between one and a human.

Jack probably had something to do with it...or Owen, one of the two.

"Can I help you?" Worf asked belligerently.

Well, the being able to speak was a plus, the tone not so much. "This maybe sound like a bit of a funny question, but have you ever been to Cardiff?"

"No," Worf replied shortly. "I am not from this time period. Though I did live in Minsk for some time."

He hesitated for a moment before adding: "In the future."

"Oh, the future," Gwen said, now looking for a vortex manipulator on his wrist. "Do many people look like you in the future?"

Way to remember you weren't supposed to know about time-travel, Gwen.

"If by people you mean Klingons, then yes," Worf replied. "I am not originally from Earth."

[identity profile] ihaveniceteeth.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah," Gwen nodded. "So you're an alien then, how's that working out for you?"

Beat.

"Aliens invaded Minsk?"

"Being a Klingon has suited me just fine," Worf said tersely. "And we did not invade Earth. I was raised here by humans."

Friday was doing just fine at fitting in until he started staring at the Klingon. Had he known what a Klingon was, he probably would have known better than to stare.

"Can I help you?" Worf asked, in what could be called a "barely polite" manner.

[identity profile] thankgoditsme.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Uh, sorry, no. Didn't mean to be rude. I'm Friday."

Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008)

[identity profile] sonofmogh.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Very well," Worf said looking slightly mollified. "I am Worf. And you said your name was 'Friday'? I have not met anyone named for a day in the week."

Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008)

[identity profile] thankgoditsme.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's a family tradition," Friday replied, rolling his eyes slightly at the tradition. "My sister is Tuesday, Mum is Thursday, Gran is Wednesday. I think they think it's funny. So Wharf like where you tie a boat?"

Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008)

[identity profile] sonofmogh.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"No," Worf said simply. "It was the name of my grandfather and has nothing to do with boats. What happens when your family runs outs of days to name people of?"

Re: General Mingling (Summer 2008)

[identity profile] thankgoditsme.livejournal.com 2008-05-09 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, Tuesday was also my great-grandmother, so I think they recycle them and claim it's tradition. I'm the first Friday though. I think. It's a weird family tradition. It's not even normal where I'm from. Where, uh, are you from, Worf?" Way to change the subject smoothly there, Friday.

"Qo'noS," Worf replied. "It is the homeworld of my race. However I was raised by humans."
