Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

"If by people you mean Klingons, then yes," Worf replied. "I am not originally from Earth."

"Ah," Gwen nodded. "So you're an alien then, how's that working out for you?"

Beat.

"Aliens invaded Minsk?"

"Being a Klingon has suited me just fine," Worf said tersely. "And we did not invade Earth. I was raised here by humans."

"Ah, okay then." Well, it was one less thing to try and get answers out of Jack about.

"I assume you are from Earth then," Worf replied. "Or at least from some time period where you are familiar with alien races."

...bugger.

"Something like that, yes."

"Something like what?" Worf asked/demanded.

"Something like people being familiar with aliens." Some people at least.

Worf regarded her with suspicion. "Are you with the Federation?"

"No, can't say that I am."

"Then what organization are you with?" Worf growled.

Since Torchwood and Special Ops were both right out..."No organisation," she lied. "I do have a membership with a couple of rugby teams though. League and union."

"I see," Worf said crossing his arms still not trusting the girl. "And you then play against alien races?"

"No, I'm not sure any of them know how to play. Shame that."

"I see," Worf growled. "Clearly you are hiding something and cannot be trusted. I will make sure that the authorities here are alerted to that fact."

Regardless of the fact that she was in fact hiding something, not that she wanted to be hiding it, but the whole point of a classified organisation was that it was hidden, Gwen took exception to this.

"Now, wait just one second," she said, reaching to poke Worf in the chest. "You're the one claiming to be an alien from the future, something which conviently can't be checked it being the future and all. Are we just supposed to take your word that you're not planning any invasions? That you're not the one hiding something the authorities should be informed about?"

Not to mention that she was supposed to be one of the authorities. Stupid, stupid Owen.

"I have not attempted to be deceptive," Worf said taking affront to being poked. "And to do so would be dishonorable."

"So you say," Gwen replied, still angry. "And it would, but that doesn't stop a lot of people, now does it?"

"Are you accusing me of being dishonorable?" Worf demanded angrily.

"Oh, me? I'm not accusing you of anything," Gwen said with a sort of airy disdain. "You if you are going to react so badly to the merest idea of it, then maybe you shouldn't be so quick to toss out the accusation."

"I am not trying to hide anything!" Worf retorted.

"Neither am I!" Oh, she'd had far too many of these kind of fights with Rhys to teach her how to fake that kind of conviction. "But that didn't stop you."

"Fine," Worf growled. "Then I look forward to seeing your rugby skills in action."

"And I will be glad to show you them."

"I'm sure," Worf said dryly. "Are there any more silly claims you'd like to make or are we done here?"
