Library, Thursday [ 03/13 ]

After neither a Bridge or a glowing ball of light appeared in the morning to open the library, it seemed the librarian might have to do actual work.

It was more than slightly concerning after the radio announcement the previous night.

Nevertheless, the library was open and being... well... the best word might be 'patrolled' by a slightly on edge librarian.

Sokka arrived -- still carrying his sledgehammer -- and hit the books. But not with the sledgehammer.

Cable was--

Well, researching was probably the wrong word, this time around. He was in and out of the library several times for various reasons, trying to keep track.

When he wasn't there-- he was probably trying to figure out The Right Way Of Doing Things. Or something like that.

Sokka caught Cable one of the times he showed up. "So..." he said. "Any chance I can talk you into loaning out grenade launchers to the students?"

Frowning, Zack browsed through the stacks, looking at some of the more... esoteric sources.

G'Kar returned to the library as soon as it opened. He was glad to see other people there as well.

Hopefully someone would find something useful today.

Sokka waved at G'Kaaahhr. "Uh. I'm not at work today? Anymore? I hope that's okay? Apu's got the store under control."

Anathema already have a pile of books and was going through them. If anyone glanced down at her notes they would notice that she seemed to have fixated on the idea of custard.

"CUSTARD?"

No, Sokka was not hovering behind her, reading her notes over her shoulder. Shut up.

Alex was back in the library today, with a stack of books and her laptop in front of her.

When her friends were in danger, she was willing to work. She only hoped she'd find something to help them. She wanted them back, dang it.

Hermione had been in the library to research this sort of thing so often that she didn't even notice she had a system she defaulted to. Come in, go to find the books she thought would help the most since she knew there was nothing in her books about this, and sit down at a table with a notebook to research.

After making a few other stops, Mike went back to what he did best -- research. He took what Mary told him about Jeff and started looking for references in history to a boy who babbled about mothers, phones, breasts and lesbians.

When Hoshi wasn't in class, she was in the library, looking up obscure references to angels in ancient Sumerian and Greek.

Liir hasn't seen Ino. Liir hasn't seen Andrew since this morning and can't find him. Liir has, at least, seen proof of Karal written on a board. It'd taken him some looking, but that was something. Liir was hoping that Professor Ambrose and Miss Lulu could take care of themselves.

Liir was wishing he believed in something so he could pray.

In the absence of such, he was in the library. Researching.. And in between researching, Listening. And planning.

This was all his fault. All his bloody fault. He'd wanted a cause, a goal, something to work against? And lo, had the Time Dragon dreamed up something for everyone.

...he did, at least, bring the results of his baking yesterday (http://gourmeted.com/2008/03/12/cinnamon-rolls-iii-ultimate-cinnamon-rolls/).

Anemone arrived after her Ethics (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1716685.html) class, with a Gulliver trailing forlornly behind her, in the hopes that her familiarity with the collection would at least give her a starting point.

After awhile, her head hit the table. "Um, what's everyone else working on, so that we're not all running in circles, here? My eyes are already starting to cross."

"I have been attempting to reference statues with unexplained disappearnces. So far, I have only found dead ends. What of you? Any luck?"

Adah had arrived a bit late for her researching; with the morning she'd had, she needed a small recharge through lunch and the earliest slices of the afternoon. It didn't seem to do her entirely much good; she found a few things to flip through and then nearly tumbled straight into them, throwing her weary self at them to be wholly consumed and to maybe come up with something.

At least this time, she knew there weren't tiny one celled organisms lurking where they couldn't be seen to enter her body, take advantage of her weakened bodily systems, and knock her out for a coma for two weeks.

Early evening G'Kar returned to the library. He'd told Apu to be cautious and avoid those angel statues as he'd locked up the store for the night.

His notes were now more organized, but unfortunately, not any more useful than they had been. Sky (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/2594844.html?thread=114685468#t114685468) had stopped by, looking for something to use against the angels, but there seemed to be nothing worthwhile in the store.

Somewhere, there was an answer to all of this. They just had to find it.

JINKIES!!! Look, Shaggy, a clue!

Sokka had spent all day looking at books about angels, books about abductions, books about angelic abductions, books about time travel... He was frustrated and bored, and so he started just pulling random books off the shelf. One on 318 ways to cook mussels, one on tantric sex -- he put that aside for later -- one on the history of the modern toothpick, one on wacky architecture...

He sighed, slumped on the floor, and started flipping through the architecture book. He needed a break, anyway. It was pretty interesting, too -- the garage shaped like a pie (mmm, pie) was pretty cool, the house built entirely out of soda cans was pretty nifty... There was an entire long and boring chapter about house shaped like a stag that had later been painted an awful greenish-blue, but Sokka skipped over it.

Towards the back was a section on interesting gravestones, and Sokka just flipped through, looking at pictures, until he turned the page and saw the school mascot staring out at him.

Then he read the text accompanying the picture.

He dropped the book, stood up, and backed away from it, pointing. "AAAAAH! AAAAAAAH! AAAAAGGHH!!!!"

Rodney was developing a habit of going to the library whenever he was truly freaked out. Not that he was hiding or anything. Really. He just knew that research was the best way for him to help find a solution that could save everyone, himself especially. Plus, there was always safety in numbers. Or so he hoped.

Once he gathered a few books that looked somewhat promising, Rodney claimed a seat at one of the tables and began his search for relevant information. It wasn't long before he felt like banging his head on the table in frustration.

Harry had stopped by his room after Ethics, grabbed Bob from his shelf, and made his way down to the library.

Harry wasn't sure how much help he'd be at all this, but Bob might prove useful. As long as Bob was in a cooperative sort of mood.
