Library, Thursday [ 03/13 ]

After neither a Bridge or a glowing ball of light appeared in the morning to open the library, it seemed the librarian might have to do actual work.

It was more than slightly concerning after the radio announcement the previous night.

Nevertheless, the library was open and being... well... the best word might be 'patrolled' by a slightly on edge librarian.

Sokka arrived -- still carrying his sledgehammer -- and hit the books. But not with the sledgehammer.

Cable was--

Well, researching was probably the wrong word, this time around. He was in and out of the library several times for various reasons, trying to keep track.

When he wasn't there-- he was probably trying to figure out The Right Way Of Doing Things. Or something like that.

Frowning, Zack browsed through the stacks, looking at some of the more... esoteric sources.

G'Kar returned to the library as soon as it opened. He was glad to see other people there as well.

Hopefully someone would find something useful today.

Sokka caught Cable one of the times he showed up. "So..." he said. "Any chance I can talk you into loaning out grenade launchers to the students?"

Sokka waved at G'Kaaahhr. "Uh. I'm not at work today? Anymore? I hope that's okay? Apu's got the store under control."

"It won't work," Cable answered. Immediately. Like he'd been considering the option previous to this conversation.

Anathema already have a pile of books and was going through them. If anyone glanced down at her notes they would notice that she seemed to have fixated on the idea of custard.

"I saw you as I came in. Given the current situation, I don't have any problem with that." Then paused in thought for a moment. He *did* have a lot of notes from last night (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1715784.html?thread=105562696#t105562696) in addition to what he'd collected since this morning...

"Thank you, Sokka. I'm sure Apu can handle the store, but just in case anyone may need something, ~~like looking for things to whack statues with~~ I'll think I'll take my notes over there. Perhaps I can peice something together."

Sokka nodded, understanding completely. "Sledgehammer didn't even scratch them. What'd you try?"

Cable shot him a slight look. "Something stronger than a sledgehammer."

Alex was back in the library today, with a stack of books and her laptop in front of her.

When her friends were in danger, she was willing to work. She only hoped she'd find something to help them. She wanted them back, dang it.

Hermione had been in the library to research this sort of thing so often that she didn't even notice she had a system she defaulted to. Come in, go to find the books she thought would help the most since she knew there was nothing in her books about this, and sit down at a table with a notebook to research.

"You're just always so darn cryptic, aren't you? You know, your wisdom might be more valuable if other people could understand it."

"CUSTARD?"

No, Sokka was not hovering behind her, reading her notes over her shoulder. Shut up.

After making a few other stops, Mike went back to what he did best -- research. He took what Mary told him about Jeff and started looking for references in history to a boy who babbled about mothers, phones, breasts and lesbians.

Anathema nodded. "Custard. It's a very logical explanation. I'm certain custard can be brought to life."

"Ye~es," Sokka agreed. "It probably can. But... what does that have to do with angel statues?"

Cable smirked at him. It had something sunny about it. "Maybe," he said, "But where would be the fun in that..."

"Maybe that's how they're sending people back to the past. Or it can be used to fight them." Anathema explained.
