Library, Thursday [ 03/13 ]

After neither a Bridge or a glowing ball of light appeared in the morning to open the library, it seemed the librarian might have to do actual work.

It was more than slightly concerning after the radio announcement the previous night.

Nevertheless, the library was open and being... well... the best word might be 'patrolled' by a slightly on edge librarian.

Anemone arrived after her Ethics (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1716685.html) class, with a Gulliver trailing forlornly behind her, in the hopes that her familiarity with the collection would at least give her a starting point.

After awhile, her head hit the table. "Um, what's everyone else working on, so that we're not all running in circles, here? My eyes are already starting to cross."

"I have been attempting to reference statues with unexplained disappearnces. So far, I have only found dead ends. What of you? Any luck?"

"Humans have an unhealthy obsession with angels," Anemone sighed, shoving her hair back out of her face. "Also, they can't make up their minds about what an angel is, does, or is likely to do."

"It could be worse. You could discover that the 'spirits' which were supposed to be helping and guiding you were actually an old race of aliens who only manipulated you to serve their own purposes." Like manipulated entire worlds kind of aliens.

"Evil angels, abusive aliens, right now they sound remarkably similar in their disregard of other people's lives. It's just rude." She tapped her pencil and frowned. "There's just too much contradictory information, and I don't know enough about this timeline to fact check any of it."

"That it does. But there is so much information, it is hard to discern what is relevant to this situation."

He shook his head. "I'm afraid I do not know much about this Earth's timeline either. I doubt what I do know will be of much use."

"Maybe we can weed out the obviously stupid and wrong bits, and let everyone else sort through the stuff that isn't completely garbage?" Anemone shoved her book to the floor and picked another off her pile. "Bogus goes on the floor, and I'll reshelve them all later. Stuff I don't know about, stays on the table."

Bingo!

After abandoning the angel research, Anemone had started making a list of victims, trying to figure out if they actually had anything in common or if it really was random attacks.

Out of sheer desperation (and boredom), she started typing names into Google. If nothing else, maybe she'd find funny pictures from their kindergarten pageant or something.

Huh. Or not. Well now.

"Hey!" Hopefully, the Librarian wasn't going to fire her for yelling. Anemone figured she had pretty good cause. "Anyone in here actually know Rosenberg?"

"Willow?" Sokka asked. "The football-and-witch-and-vampire-slaying Rosenberg? Not well, but yeah." He fidgeted a little. She had been with Mel when they were both taken.

"Is she the letter writing type?" Anemone asked, quickly clicking links and opening up new tabs in her browser. "Or would you recognize her handwriting?"

"...She's the letter-writing type, I think? But I wouldn't know her handwriting. Why, did you find something??? Did she mention Mel???"

"Her stuff's for sale. Here." Anemone turned her laptop so Sokka could see the screen. "Some place is auctioning off collector's items, stuff from the early part of the century. Papers, letters, diaries, that sort of thing. One of the collections they've got listed is the 'Papers of Willow Rosenberg', and they have one of the letters scanned and posted online as a sample. Think it's our Willow?"

Sokka read a few rambling sentences and winced. "It certainly SOUNDS like her."
