Please help yourself to some coffee, and have a seat. Your editor-in-chief will meet with you personally to discuss why you want to be on yearbook, and specifically what department/position you might be interested in.

Please be patient, and keep things down, as said EIC has suffered a head injury recently, and is recovering.

Rory sits on a table, watching people come in. She has a cup of coffee, though it's significantly larger than the ones on the table, and keeps absently touching the bandage on her forehead.

"Is there something you need?" Rory asks, grimly coming to stand in front of Huntzberger, her arms crossed.

"Oh hey Gilmore - long time, now see. We should really catch up sometime."

*Logan is definitely enjoying being obnoxioius*

"Need something? No, I'm just here offering my services to this fine school organization - you know, I like to 'give something back' as often as I'm able. Heart of Gold and all that."

Logan walks up behind Rory. "Hi," he says cheerfully. "I don't think we've met. I'm Logan." He offers his hand.

*Huntzberger stands and politely shakes the hand Echolls offered*

"Logan here also. It's good to meet you; somehow, I feel like I know you already."

Rory watches them nervously, her eyes darting back and forth between the two Logans.

Logan grips Huntzberger's hand tightly. "Funny, I feel the same way," he says. Leaning in, he speaks in a low voice. "If you ever touch my girlfriend again? I'll break your fucking fingers." The grin never leaves his face.

*After extracting his fingers from Echolls's grip, Hunzberger's grin gets even wider*

"Is that all you've got? I expected... more from Gilmore's 'white knight' "

Allie senses there is something going on that she doesn't know about and uncharacteristically decides to speak up.

"Logan? What's going on?"

"Which you took too far," Rory interjects quietly.

Logan's head snaps around to look at Rory.

"That's right. It was completely my fault, and absolutely none of the blame belongs on you. Especially not for the times when you pulled me closer, or when you leaned forward to touch your nose to mine. You might want to head back to the clinic, Gilmore - I hear head injuries can cause selective amnesia."

Allie frowns at the guy she doesn't know.

"Oh, okay. Are you all right?"

Without looking at her, Logan replies, "I'll be fine. I appreciate your concern."

Echolls laughs. "I'm nobody's white knight. But if you push me, you'll find out what I've got."

Huntzberger looks him up and down and says, "That hardly seems like a worthwhile proposition. I'd hate to, I don't know, break a nail or something."

Echolls just gives Huntzberger a disgusted look.

Huntzberger decides that replying is not worth the effort at this point, so he bites back his comment about Echolls practicing that expression in the mirror for hours at a time.

Rory blanches, and puts a hand on Logan's arm. "Don't. Just leave it," she says quietly.

Rort arches her brows in surprise, and instantly regrets it. "Ow, damn it," she snaps, pressing a hand to her head.

She glares at Logan. "Are you kidding me? You want to work yearbook?"

"Watch your head there - it looks like that hurts."

*ignores her glare and tone of voice*

"Of course, Gilmore. Social duty and whatnot. And I heard you were short on numbers - I couldn't just stand idly by and ignore classmates in need."

Rory continues to glare, clutching her head. She sighs, and drums her nails on his desk.

"Fine. What department? And what are your qualifications?"

"Any department that's short-handed. Qualifications? Perhaps you've heard of my father - Mitchum Huntzberger, newspaperman extraordinaire, I've received top marks in all English courses, I have amatuer photography experience, a 'strong desire' to be involved in my school community, and the afore-mentioned heart of gold."

*winks and flashes his most charming smile*

"Fine," Rory says, annoyed. "We have a professional environment here. No winking. And pick a department - telling me you're a renaissance man doesn't help. Neither does telling me about your father, unless he's here," she says, sarcastically looking around.

"On second thought, Gilmore, I don't believe Yearbook Committee will fit into my schedule after all. Good luck with it, though."

Logan gathers his notebooks so he can leave.

"Oh no!" Rory says sarcastically, clutching the back of her hand to her forehead melodramatically. "Whatever will we do without the amazing Logan Huntzberger?"
