Yearbook Meeting

WELCOME TO THE FANDOM HIGH YEARBOOK
Please help yourself to some coffee, and have a seat. Your editor-in-chief will meet with you personally to discuss why you want to be on yearbook, and specifically what department/position you might be interested in.

Please be patient, and keep things down, as said EIC has suffered a head injury recently, and is recovering.

Rory sits on a table, watching people come in. She has a cup of coffee, though it's significantly larger than the ones on the table, and keeps absently touching the bandage on her forehead.

Allie senses there is something going on that she doesn't know about and uncharacteristically decides to speak up.

"Logan? What's going on?"

"It's nothing, Allie. Just a bit of a testosterone flare-up over an in-class assignment (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/147151.html?thread=5607375#t5607375)."

"Which you took too far," Rory interjects quietly.

Logan's head snaps around to look at Rory.

"That's right. It was completely my fault, and absolutely none of the blame belongs on you. Especially not for the times when you pulled me closer, or when you leaned forward to touch your nose to mine. You might want to head back to the clinic, Gilmore - I hear head injuries can cause selective amnesia."

"It was an assignment," she yells in spite of herself. "I go to class. I do my work, regardless of how uncomfortable they might make me," she says, dropping her voice and leaning in. "But there's a line, and you crossed it."

Her breath is coming in raggedly, and she looks dangerously close to either crying or slapping him.

"You and I are a lot more alike than you would ever be willing to admit, Gilmore. It's hard to tell where the line is until one crosses it."

"No, some things are clear to people who have any standards," she says quietly. "And we are nothing alike."

Logan responds quietly this time.

"Is this you 'refusing to be who people expect you to be' Gilmore?" Logan shrugs. "I thought you were different, that's all."

Rory just stares. "You don't know anything about me. Don't presume that you do," she says quietly.

Echolls turns to Rory and raises an eyebrow at that.

Rory shoots a pleading look at him and shakes her head, which is pounding at this point.

Huntzberger notices Logan's look of surprise

"Oh, did she 'neglect' to mention that part of the story? That hardly seems fair."

"Shut up, Huntzberger," Rory says through gritted teeth, tears of anger swimming in her eyes.

Huntzberger summons his best mocking voice.

"Ah, yes - 'Shut up, Huntzberger' and take the fall for the 'minor' details I left out when I went crying to my boyfriend about the big bad wolf in Speech class."

"I didn't leave anything out," Rory says coldly. "I told him that I participated in the assignment as instructed, and that you kissed me - and that I told you quite clearly that I didn't appreciate it."

Allie frowns at the guy she doesn't know.

"Oh, okay. Are you all right?"

Without looking at her, Logan replies, "I'll be fine. I appreciate your concern."

Allie recognizes Logan's brush off, but is determined to get to the bottom of this. She shares a house with this guy and is going on a date with him Friday.

"What exactly happened during this class assignment, Logan?"

"He kissed me," Rory says to Allie, not taking her focus off of Huntzberger.

Allie is stunned.

"Wait. Are you two dating? Because he asked me to homecoming and I assumed he was available."

She is stumbling over her words because she is completely confused.

"No, we're not. That's the point," Rory replies tersely. "Nice how he did that, huh?"

"No, I don't measure up to her standards, being scum of the earth and all. And this happened in class, before I even asked you to the dance."

Logan finally turns to look at Allie and lowers his voice. "Not that that makes it right."

Huntzberger is still glaring at Rory

"That was one step among many in one of Professor Cregg's stupid trust games, and 'it takes two to tango' if you know what I mean."

Allie realizes she missed something big in class during her visit home.

"So how exactly is kissing a total stranger part of a trust game in class?" Her voice has an edge to it that surprises her.

Huntzberger is getting irritated at being attacked from all sides now.

"Cregg wanted us to partner up, share personal details, get as physically close to our partner as we could, and hold the physical closeness for as long as we could stay comfortable. I'm still not quite sure what she was going for, but it didn't work on multiple levels."
