Applied Inventiontronics, Period 4 - Week 8

His shoes had moved on their own that morning, and he wasn't so sure anymore if it had been real or just another glitch.

At any rate, Glitch was standing at the front of the class, very obviously shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

"Today, uhm, I hope you brought your designs to class. Or, well, what you have of your designs for your projects because that's what we'll be going over. I mean, I'll be going over with you."

He bit back a repeat of the last four words before he continued.

"So, if you'd all get what you have out, I'll go around--," he said with a shift and a shuffle as one of his feet almost darted out from underneath him, "I'll go around and check your progress."

There was a pause as he looked down at his notes to make sure he was finished. "Oh, and, don't forget that next week we'll be doing repairs. So, if you or someone you know has something broken, then, bring it in--," he ended abruptly with another shake as his other foot made a decent pass at kicking itself against the desk.

Glitch frowned down at his shoes before smiling nervously at the class. Today was going to be a long day.

[ooc: OCD is up! This was also in the right place the whole time I swear.]

"We haven't gone over this one," he said, of the slightly modified design. "And you haven't even heard about the design of the reader device. I admit," he said with a faint blush, "I didn't think of it at first as I thought anyone could do what I did."

"It's just an amplifier," he said. "A little like that crystal device you showed me when you were teaching me to dance. But whereas that crystal only read out the music that had been saved, this 'reads out' the memory for someone. It should be 'loud' enough for anyone to hear, but I have to test it still.

"And as a safeguard, the reader device uses the same tuned stone as a lock and key mechanism; only matching devices will work at all. I made sure to make that part of the design."

"One of the other students has offered," he said. "Just as I offered to test his. I've also got a few ot--"

He blinked and looked down at the lump-pocket on his chest attached to the strap of his bag.

"Er, before I forget? Andrew won't be able to discuss his invention for the time being as he's," he pointed, "a small fluffy rabbit."

"It wasn't me," he said immediately. Then he sighed as he leaned down and kissed the poor little bunny's head.

"Fandom Weirdness is what others have told me it's called. I found him like this the other night."

Liir nudged him very gently.

"He'll change back," he said, just in case. "I've been told it takes a week or so, but I can care for him until then. Is something the matter?"

He shook his head. No worry.

"Anything else, Professor?"

He hoped that he'd made the Professor proud of him, especially after what Ino had said the other day.

He let his feet slip out from under the desk. The bare feet.

"I did. It didn't seem proper to wear them when they were being so friendly."

...he took care of his shoes as he did with his clothing, personally and with the utmost care. As such, his had been rather placid. Especially since he hadn't even tried to wear them.

"I tend to look them over for scratches or scuffs in the morning," he admitted. "That's when they started talking. Hence..."

He nodded.

"Well, they did today. I've never heard of Shoes, but I suppose it's possible."

He shrugged, not knowing if they could or not, before digging an orange out of his bag.

"Would you like one?" he asked brightly, switching the subject. After all, he was at least sure this wasn't the bacon orange. And that meant it was probably a rather good tasting orange.

...he did have taste.

He handed the orange over just a bit awkwardly.

He couldn't quite get over what Ino had said.

"I'm still allowed to come to your office tomorrow, yes?" he asked.

He ducked his head awkwardly.

"Sorry. I'm still... I worry that I take up so much of your time. I know you've told me before, but you do so much--"

He looked up carefully.

"I really can't thank you enough for bringing us to the O.Z."

But it was still a wince.

"Did I... I didn't get you in trouble or anything, did I? Or stir anything up?"
