Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[~~WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE.~~ OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

"Angel guy?"

Oh, yes, he was going to give that woman a piece of his mind at the very next opportunity.

"Never mind! Doppelganger and all that jazz." He offered a hand. "As long as there's not hitting on me, as I am a married man, you cad."

"I wouldn't dream of it," Bond replied with a smile, taking the offered hand. After all, it was a lot less fun when you didn't have the option of leaving the country before the cuckolded partner found out. "So this doppelganger business is a common occurrence around these parts?"

He was very pointedly not looking in Aravis's direction as he said this.

Deadpool nodded sagely. It was hard to shock someone from his universe. All those crossover events just killed the joy of the double ewe tea eff.

"I think so, but where I'm from, it's usually the clones. Or aliens. or alien clones. Or cosmic entities pretending to be people," He said, as if this was something ordinary like talking about getting the drycleaning.

Which he might need to do. Sometimes his random train of thoughts helped!

He smiled cheerfully. "Name's Deadpool."

Now he was certain M was sitting in her office back in London, cackling to herself in evil glee.

"A pleasure, I'm sure. I'm Bond," he said, and then, since for all he knew, there were a dozen other Bonds running around this place "James Bond."

Hmm, he did rather like the sound of that.

Pausing, Deadpool looked around the lawn.

"Do you get the sense that we should be in a sniper scope before you shoot them in a dramatic fashion accompanied by theme music?" A beat. "Or is it just me?"

Bond frowned as he thought about it. "Usually I've found dramatic music tends to ruin the point of using a sniper."

Don't ask how he knew this. Just don't.

"True."

It was fun when life was so weird that something like that can come up.

"And I think that also makes you my teaching buddy," Deadpool said. "Which I think is code for the Dean not wanting you new guys running off in horror over the occasional turning into the opposite gender."

Definitely cackling in evil glee, no matter how dignified it made her look.

"And turning back?" It didn't hurt to ask.

Deadpool nodded, looking down at his chest sadly. "The boobs were really fun though. And the extra bendiness was fun in a fight."

"I imagine you're quite right there," Bond replied after thinking it over. "On both counts."

"Damn straight!" Because it was always nice when people understood that he was correct about a lot of things. "I like you, Jimmy. i think you'll be fine here." A beat. "Just avoid anything gremlin-like. You'll end up doing bad things."

"Gremlin-like?" he asked, and more importantly, all things considered, "And what kind of bad things exactly?"

Deadpool looked around suspiciously. "Well one of them bit me and I ended up with a horrible Nova Scotian accent and thinking I was Wolverine. It makes me feel all dirty and like like an even worse Canadian stereotype than the Mountie."

"Ah, that kind of bad thing," Bond replied, nodding. Much easier to deal with, at least in the sense witnesses could be taken care of with it being traced back to him.

Eying the narrative warily, Deadpool decided to let this one slip. But the next time he read narrative about killing people, he was saying something.

If it was people he liked alive.

But only then.

"And watch out for the squirrels, they gather news."

If Bond could read narrative he might have pointed out he wasn't that much of an amateur that he needed to leap straight to killing when there were options like organising transfers to Siberia, but since he couldn't, instead he just nodded.

"Squirrel reporters, that makes as much sense as anything else that's happened today."

Which was good as if Bond could read the narrative, Deadpool's world would be spinning wildly out of control. Black would be white, up would be down.... you get the picture.

Sometimes he missed not knowing this was all some game for the amusement of others. And then he usually watched more of the Fivehead to forget.

"At least you missed the magical plaaaaaaaaaaaague."

"Magical plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaague?" He didn't know why, but it just seemed proper to elongate the a like that.

Because Jimmy really was going to fit right in.

"I kinda stopped paying attention to the how and why, but we got shut off from everything off island for a while, which wasn't fun." And there were other much less fun parts of it, but Jimmy was new and didn't need to get the emo of the island thrown at him so soon.

Deadpool would give him at least a week.

Considering how well he was not dealing with his own new emo, Bond would no doubt appreciate the breathing room. "I can imagine."

Deadpool would suggest repression. Because it worked so damn well for him.

"And the evil principal that tried to kill us," He continued. "Oh! And that one time we had these wee little penguins. I loved those penguins."

Bond was a long-time fan of repression, nevermind that it had gotten him sent here in the first place.

"I take it the principal has been replaced?" He was just going to assume that it was a platonic love between man and aquatic bird, since the alternative didn't bear thinking about.

"They were the best flightless water fowl army a merc could ask for," He continued, sniffling a little. "Oh, of course. The normal one was gone having a baby."

A penguin army? That was definitely something to consider. "I'm sure that they think of you every time they do manoeuvres."
