Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather was thankfully behaving, so it was fairly warm outside as everything was set up for the picnic. Tables and chairs had been set up, and there was plenty of food and drinks, along with nametags, and two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and another listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[WAIT FOR THE OCD PLEASE. OCD IS UP, HAVE AT IT. This is part one of the picnic, for specifically meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. *g*]

After dropping Peter off at the dorms - because yes, Nathan was going to be that much of a micromanager about it - he went down to the picnic to check in and possibly meet some of his co-workers.

It was a couple of minutes before she spotted the guy. Kerrigan still wasn't entirely sure how she'd gotten roped into this 'buddy' business, but that was just the way of things around here.

Kind of like magic, if you believed in that sort of thing.

"Nathan Petrelli?"

Kerrigan eyed him warily for a moment, then reached to take his hand for a firm shake. Politician, her mind quietly supplied, or wanna-be.

Shades of Arcturus, there. "Lieutenant Sarah Kerrigan," she supplied, "Tactics instructor. I'll be your..." a pause to fully communicate the air quotes, "...teaching buddy for the coming weeks."

"Pleasure to meet you," Nathan said. He took note of her name with a small nod of respect. "Lieutenant? Where with? I was a pilot in the Navy for a while though don't ask rank because god forbid canon provide that information"

She opened her mouth for the usual lie, then realised it didn't matter much anymore anyway. "Special ops," Kerrigan replied, "But not anywhere you'd know."

"Not in my universe," she segued smoothly. If there was anything Kerrigan didn't want to discuss, it was how she ended up there. "Sounds like we might be a couple centuries ahead."

Having gotten ahold of his class schedule between leaving Peter's room and arriving at the picnic, Ronan had blanched slightly at seeing the listing for the law class that he didn't remember signing up for -- or, more specifically, at who was teaching it.

Of course, he rationalised, Peter would have mentioned it if it were his Nathan, right?Because he wasn't distracted at all by kisses. Clearly, the only reasonable answer was that this teacher was either an alternate Nathan Petrelli, or someone else who just happened to have the same name. Which meant that Ronan should find out which, so that he could warn him about the alternate universe brother thing, right?

"Hi," Ronan said, walking up, hand out for shaking. "Are you Professor Petrelli?"

"And you," Ronan replied. "I'm Ronan Nolan, I'm in your class this semester. I must say, I'm rather looking forward to it." Even if he hadn't known about it ten minutes ago. "... Has anyone mentioned how Fandom can be... peculiar?"

John glanced over the new guy who looked familiar. It took a few moments but he finally placed him. "You're Peter Petrelli's brother aren't you?"
