Library [Sunday, December 16]

With this planet's holidays fast approaching, Lee's doing something he probably should have done a long time ago: reading to see just what goes on during the various holidays. Of course, just seeing how many holidays were grouped in one month was enough to confuse him. And, after discovering one particular aspect of several of the different holidays, he's confused about something else: gift giving.

The library is open.

Adah's just just dropped, in the mockery of a gasp. "You couldn't have!" she commented, astonished. "I needed that section."

"How can you say that?" Adah argued lightly back. "I might have a very crucial report involving shirtless pirates. Is it really that far out of the realm of possibility, Mister I'm-Taking-A-Class-on-Modeling?"

"It's for..." Adah faltered a little bit as she tried to think of something. It was difficult, thinking of something with the classes she had. There was the chance to put emphasis on statistics for Mathematics, or a new pirate worshipping cult for Religion, but...

"An independent study."

At least that could be a fairly truthful answer.

"You'd be surprised," was all Adah allowed herself to reveal, a slightly devious curve to her crooked smile.

"I have a lot of work ahead of me, then," Adah reasoned airily. "Taping all those tiny pieces back together for the preservation of knowledge, and you. A shame to library aides everywhere, for such intention destruction of it. That's far worse than when I put all the books in the wrong spots for the hell of it."

Adah quirked an eyebrow at that. "Buried them?" she repeated, leaning forward with an accusing glint in her eye. "You mean like treasure?"

"How could paper stain a trash bag?" Adah asked, chuckling a little, and then she shook her head. "You know what? I'm sensing some resentment here, I think."

Adah bit her lip, in the vain attempt to try to keep down a bit of a beaming smile at that. Ah, denial! It was just so damn adorable!

"Of course," she drawled, leaning over with the intention to give him a light kiss on the cheek, only to discover that she couldn't quite reach from where she was. Her face went instantly pink, but she tried to cover it up by ducking her head and making her eyes seem like she was just trying to deeply implore something of him. "What was I thinking? Too many psychology books for me, perhaps."

Adah considered the new distances now that he had leaned closer, too, but decided to stay her original intent for the moment. She leveled her gaze intently into the Eel's, smirking lightly. "I'll have to check my notes, and compare which variable was more important. The pirate or the shirtlessness."

Adah was quiet for a moment, her eyes shifting to the side before they returned to the Eel in her best attempt at innocence. Which she was almost one hundred percent positive looked utterly unbelievable.

"I guess the notes aren't that important," she drawled quietly.

Adah shrugged with an air of nonchalance. "I wouldn't say I'd be against the idea. I mean, you destroyed a whole section of books today already; what more could taking off your shirt do?"

There was something impossibly cute and utterly ridiculous about the ducking behind the desk, leaving Adah smirking a bit in disbelief that it could really be any sort of modesty. She waited a moment, for him to return, but, after waiting for what she figured would be longer than it would take a normal, able-bodied person such as the Eel to remove an article of clothing, she got a little confused. And curious. She was aware of the fact that she was potentially being baited. She was also aware of the fact that this library was weird and things happened. Head tilting, she straightened from where she was leaning against the desk to slow limp around it, peering over to where she could assume the Eel disappeared.

"What? Did you get lost?"

"You took too long," Adah pointed out. "And that's saying something, if I get impatient." She leaned her hip against this side of the desk now, her eyes taking in the current lack of a shirt rather shamelessly, although contradicting her words. "What were you going to surprise me with, exactly? It's not like anything I haven't seen before."
