Library [Sunday, December 16]

With this planet's holidays fast approaching, Lee's doing something he probably should have done a long time ago: reading to see just what goes on during the various holidays. Of course, just seeing how many holidays were grouped in one month was enough to confuse him. And, after discovering one particular aspect of several of the different holidays, he's confused about something else: gift giving.

The library is open.

Adah's cheeks were pink, entirely from the effort not to laugh. Because she was far too shameless to be embarrassed about anything else that the situation might suggest. "You certainly do know how to wow a person with presentation," she teased. "They teach you that in your modeling class, too?"

Adah laughed as her arm moved in an utterly failed attempt to do anything about the flicked shirt, shoulder creeping up in defense against the offending article of clothing. She made an attempt to grab it, also failing, as she just wasn't very good at things like that. "And so was my pirate research! But that didn't stop you from thwarting it! I should be mad at you right now, you know."

"I think all that waiting you made me do," Adah reasoned, "helped quell my anger. That's all."

Certainly had nothing to do with...charm. Or wiles, for that matter.

"Only to satiate building anger over the destruction of perfectly good resources!" Adah argued with a laugh that petered down into her biting her lip with another gaze of realization that she really did have quite a nice view from about here. She finally let her eyes drift toward the Eel's face for a moment, so he could hopefully see their dancing appreciation. Because she certainly wasn't going to say anything about it.

"You would get no pity from me," Adah informed him promptly with a grin. It was just as nice to see that slow smile as it was to see his current state of partial undress. "You'd deserve it, for what you did to those poor shirtless pirates.

That he was. Adah grinned again, shifting her weight and support against the desk a little, which just happened to bring her slightly closer. "And it is warm in here, not cold, so the point is moot."

"Well, if you're a little cold," Adah said, keeping her tone light and considering, and then hardening it a little with a level gaze through her dangling hair, "then I'd tell you to suck it up and go outside, and then you can complain."

"Are you cold, then?" Adah asked, quirking her eyebrow and making another failed attempt to snatch the flicked shirt. "You can't possibly be that cold."

Adah couldn't help a light laugh at that, her head jerking back a little. "You lie! It's nice in here! Very temperate and warm. Can't have it too cold for the books, after all. If it's not too cold for the books, it's not too cold for you."

There was another shifting of weight. One that just happened to bring Adah a little bit closer. More specifically, it happened to put her in a position where she might be able to reach the shirt. It might require her to be quick, though. Not her best area. Still...

"If you're so freezing, then why don't you just put your shirt back on?"

"Mmm," Adah made a light thoughtful sound as she nodded. "You do have a point there...."

Adah then discovered that admitting it was even more adorable than the denial. She grinned, unable not to, and ducked her head to hide it a little. "Well," she said, "I guess if you're as cold as you make it seem, you can go ahead and put the shirt back on, and I'll try my hardest not to let my mind wander back. I, however, give no guarantees, and I would rather miss the view."
