Library [Sunday, December 16]

With this planet's holidays fast approaching, Lee's doing something he probably should have done a long time ago: reading to see just what goes on during the various holidays. Of course, just seeing how many holidays were grouped in one month was enough to confuse him. And, after discovering one particular aspect of several of the different holidays, he's confused about something else: gift giving.

The library is open.

"Your hands?" Adah couldn't help laughing a little. "Now that's a new drawing point. But you're right. They actually tend to have hooks, I believe. Probably why they're shirtless so often. It isn't easy putting on a shirt without use of a hand."

She should know, after all.

Adah? A brat? Never. Unheard of, really.

She bit her lip against more devious grinning. "Hooks could probably do fun things if you got inventive enough," she pointed out.

"See, you're not putting your shirt on because of the pirates," Adah commented with a light chuckle. "You're leaving it off and suffering the cold so you can win every one of these arguments."

For the record, that was merely an observation, certainly not a complaint.

"That's a stupid question," Adah rolled her eyes slightly. "Off, of course. Even if it does mean you freeze."

"Purely for the sake of argument! Honest! I thrive to be difficult, you know this. And if I seemed apathetic about the shirtless pirates, then you'd have no reason to have taken off your shirt. It's all part of my master plan, and damn you for making me talk this much in nearly one breath, I really hope you're proud of yourself."

If she were more physically able, Adah might feel inclined to strangle the Eel not a euphemism, omg. If she were more physically able and if she wasn't as amused as she was, practically glowing with her grinning. "I...honestly don't think," she laughed, "I realized that was my grand plan, really. My genius was hidden even from me."

"Still don't see you putting it back on," Adah countered, and ha! This time she was able to catch the tail of the shirt before it retreat back, and her grin grew wider with accomplishment.

"I don't think it would fit me," Adah responded, tugging in response, light because she couldn't exactly tug very hard. But she did have thoughts in her head of somehow finding the strength to pull him closer, into her, turning pink at the idea. And she also got thoughts of managing to steal the shirt, of doing ridiculous things that girls did like wearing it to bed because it carried his scent, and that turned the pink promptly into red. And caused another tug. "But it would ensure that you don't put it back on. And that you stop flicking me with it."

She oh-so-innocently batted her eyes at him. She'd flagellate herself later for that.

If it weren't for the fact that Adah knew the Eel couldn't read minds...She drew in a breath, feeling the blush spreading; if he was cold, then he probably wouldn't be, because her cheeks were on fire enough to keep him warm from there. Thoughts of malaria started to filter through her head, knowing entirely where Leah was coming from in her mistaking the disease for lasciviousness.

He didn't tug back, she noticed, which halted her a moment as she tried to read what that meant.

And then promptly gave another tug of her own.

Okay, yes. Adah was pretty sure that all the evidence was pointing to the Eel's intentions being exactly what she was thinking they were. That didn't help her blush at all, but she was starting accept that it wasn't going anywhere any time soon. Dog, she wasn't at all that type of girl; it was something Rachel...Rachel!...would swoon about. But Adah still found herself calculating the fact that one more tug would probably bring him right there close to her, and the shirt entirely in her possession. Or, biting her lip with her eyes watching him carefully for signs she could read.

And gave that last light pull.

The urge to shift her weight from the desk to the shirtless library aide just a mere millimeter away was a strong one indeed, but Adah resolved to keep herself rigidly in place with her eyes unfalteringly set toward his. She slowly lifted her hand his shirt belt tightly in it. "I'm keeping this," she said, trying to keep her quiet voice firm with the suggestion that she was doing it entirely for his insolence. No other reason what-so-ever. None.

"There certainly isn't," Adah drawled, slightly annoyed by the slight breathlessness in it, but, really. No desk, and fewer clothes besides. She kept her eyes intently on the Eel, in anticipation of whether or not he was going to do anything about it.
