Sam was as exhausted as a dinosaur invasion could make a person, so he had a very large cup of coffee with him when he went to open the library.

Sam was just physically manning the desk for the time being, waiting for the caffeine to kick in.

It had been a few days since Sam had gotten to check some of his e-mail accounts, so he went through to separate the real mail from the varied and increasingly strange spam.

Third Period [07/16]

Sam was resisting the siren call of the Sims for the moment, to go re-organize some of the books that the researchers had used over the weekend.

Lunch [07/16]

The library was closed for lunch, to everyone except Thursday and the aides.

Sam had found an interesting book while he was putting the others away, and was currently engrossed in it.

Abigail headed into the library, and stopped short in the doorway, surprised by how many books there were.

Sam glanced up when he heard the door open, and tried to sound casual when he saw who had come in. "Hi. Can I help you?" he asked.

"Maybe?" she replied. "I'm looking for the section of books on archery. Specifically, ones on compound bows."

"Well, if you know what you're looking for, there's a catalog on the computer," Sam said. "If not, the archery books are probably on that aisle," he added, pointing, "and you're welcome to browse for as long as you want."

"Thanks." Abigail smiled and stepped towards the bookshelves before doing a 180 and turning back to Sam. "You're Sam Winchester, right? From flag football?"

Sam nodded, playing at least slightly dumb. "Yeah. You're on my brother's team. It's Abigail, isn't it?"

"Abigail Whistler," she said. "Mind if I ask you a question?"

Abigail smirked. "When I showed up on my first day, I met a whole bunch of people at that picnic that the school threw, and there were a few people who seemed to be under the mistaken impression that I was you. When they said Sam, I thought they meant, like, Samantha, but you are very clearly a boy," she said, looking him up and down as if to prove her point. "And while you're certainly as hot as I like to think I am, we don't exactly look alike. So, why was everyone confused? No one's been willing to give me a straight answer on that yet."

Fifth Period [07/16]

Sam was off at Creatures of Nature class. If no one else was around, the library was closed.

Sam was back on the computer, looking for all the information he could find on taking care of a cockatiel, before he had to close up for the day.

Dean wandered by to do a random 'make sure the little brother didn't get eaten by a dinosaur' check.

And there was Sammy looking entirely uneaten... with a bird in a cage beside him.

"Is that anyone I know?" Dean asked, peering at the bird.

"No, thankfully. He's my Creatures of Nature project," Sam replied. "I have to keep him alive and well until the end of the class."

"I don't mind this kind of homework. He's a lot cuter than some of the other pets people ended up with. And no, he doesn't have a name yet. I've been trying to think of a good one, but I've been drawing a blank."
