Sam glanced up when he heard the door open, and tried to sound casual when he saw who had come in. "Hi. Can I help you?" he asked.

"Maybe?" she replied. "I'm looking for the section of books on archery. Specifically, ones on compound bows."

"Well, if you know what you're looking for, there's a catalog on the computer," Sam said. "If not, the archery books are probably on that aisle," he added, pointing, "and you're welcome to browse for as long as you want."

"Thanks." Abigail smiled and stepped towards the bookshelves before doing a 180 and turning back to Sam. "You're Sam Winchester, right? From flag football?"

Sam nodded, playing at least slightly dumb. "Yeah. You're on my brother's team. It's Abigail, isn't it?"

"Abigail Whistler," she said. "Mind if I ask you a question?"

"You've already asked me a few questions. I guess one more can't hurt."

Abigail smirked. "When I showed up on my first day, I met a whole bunch of people at that picnic that the school threw, and there were a few people who seemed to be under the mistaken impression that I was you. When they said Sam, I thought they meant, like, Samantha, but you are very clearly a boy," she said, looking him up and down as if to prove her point. "And while you're certainly as hot as I like to think I am, we don't exactly look alike. So, why was everyone confused? No one's been willing to give me a straight answer on that yet."

That was definitely the one thing he'd been hoping she wouldn't ask about. Sam glanced back down at his book, and wondered if he could distract her long enough to escape into the back room. "Uh, it's kind of a long story."

"I have all period," she replied, leaning over the counter. "Come on, it can't be that bad."

Sam let out a sigh and set his book aside, leaning over the counter as well. "Okay, I'm assuming you've heard stories about some of the weird things that happen on the island."

"Like random attacks of dinosaurs?"

"Like random attacks of dinosaurs. And like randomly waking up one morning to discover that a most of the guys on the island have been turned into girls."

Abigail stared at Sam. "Okay, I'll admit, that wasn't what I thought you were going to say. You got turned into a girl?"

"Yeah," Sam replied. "More specifically, I woke up looking a lot like you. It only lasted for the day, and everyone was fine again when we woke up in the morning. But when people saw you at the picnic, they probably thought it had happened again, and that's why they got confused."

"You realize that wasn't a very long story?" Abigail deadpanned.

"Yeah, it seemed a lot longer in my head," Sam admitted.

"I can't imagine what the island would be like if all the guys ended up as girls. It was probably really quiet, huh?" Abigail asked, grinning.

Sam shrugged casually. "Not really. I think people were more freaked out than anything else, at least in the morning."

"So there weren't a lot of guys...you know," Abigail replied, making a sexual gesture that really only worked with guys, but that would hopefully get her point across.

Sam got the point loud and clear, and felt himself turning a little red. "Some guys may have...experimented. But I didn't."

"You didn't? At all? Not even a little?"

"No, no way," Sam insisted. "I went to class, and then came back to my room and hid for the rest of the day. Which didn't do me much good in the end with Alec coming by to hit on me," he added, grumbling.

"Alec hit on you while you looked like me?" Abigail laughed. "No wonder he didn't hesitate to try to get in my pants."

"He hit on you too?" Sam asked.
