Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

Around dinner time on Friday, the main campfire was transformed. Leis and grass skirts were available to all. A pig was roasting kabobs. There was Hawaiian music playing from somewhere. There was also a limbo stick of doom. If you lost, you died.

Okay, that was just Drax's hope. He couldn't make it happen in reality. Woe.

"You actually wearing clothes," Zuko snapped right back.

"So I guess I don't have to worry about you kissing me again!" Mel snarked back.

"Why would you?" he crossed his arms and scowled at her. "There was nothing going on there."

Mel scoffed and crossed her own arms. "So, that wasn't your tongue in my mouth?"

Zuko spluttered. "That was your tongue in my mouth!"

Great come back, Zuko. Really.

"You started it!"

And apparently Mel is twelve.

"You asked for it!"

He wasn't doing much better.

"Did not!"

Okay she did, but she wasn't going to admit it.

Zuko huffed and scowled some more.

"Did!" he argued and as he knew she wasn't going to relent, he grabbed the front of her shirt and kissed her again. Because it was the logical thing to do.

Mel managed to get "DID-" out but the "NOT!" was muffled by Zuko's mouth.

And for the second time in twenty four hours she was kissing Zuko again.

WTF?

Fine. If that's the way it was going to be...

Mel grabbed Zuko and kissed him back fiercely.

Fine. Two could play at that.

He let go of the front of her shirt just long enough so he could step closer and move his grip to her side. He needed to make sure she didn't run off after all. Not that he knew why exactly that would be bad.

Mel snorted derisively at the move and upped the ante by wrapping her arms around Zuko's neck and pressing up against him.

While deepening the kiss.

At least she wasn't as naked now. The thought had nothing to do with his hands sliding to her back and him pressing closer. Really.

"I still hate you," Mel said angrily in between kisses.

"Fine," he growled against her lips, fisting her shirt. "I hate you."

It didn't exactly make him stop kissing her. Because then she'd win. Yeah, that was it.

And because Mel certainly was going to back down she was running her fingers through his hair. "Shut up," she growled.

Right, like he was going to listen to what she had to say.

"You shut up," he snapped back, even as he sounded slightly breathless. He finally let go of her shirt, flattening his hand against the small of her back.

"Any second and I'm going to throw you into the campfire," Mel said right before putting a hand up the back of his shirt.

And then doing her best to make sure he can't comment.

Katara was heading over to talk to Molly - or maybe finally find her little sister - when she saw Mel. Kissing someone. Which seemed strange given that the last time they'd talked about it Mel said she wasn't ever going to be in a relationship.

So she slowed down slightly to see who the lucky boy was. And then stared.

ZUKO? MEL WAS KISSING ZUKO?

Not that she cared, of course, just that Mel must have been gremlin-bit or possessed or SOMETHING.

Katara frowned then reached to pull punch out of one of the big bowls. She let it hover for an instant over their kissing - omgwtf KISSING - heads before having the whole mess splash down on them.

Mel let off a string of curse words until she saw Katara.

Then she pointed at Zuko and yelled "He started it!"

Zuko stared at Mel. "You asked for it!" he shouted back.

She stared at them both for a minute.

"You're both insane!"

Then she pulled the punch out of another big bowl and threw that on them too. They obviously needed to cool off.

"Cut that out!" Mel sputtered as she wiped punch from her eyes. "Jeez that's the third time today!"

And this was sticky too, Zuko wrinkled his nose as he wiped his hair back. "At least use water!"

No, he wasn't thinking very straight.

"Well, maybe if you weren't insane, you wouldn't need it!" Katara snapped.

And then decided to give Zuko what he wanted and pull water out of her waterskin to splash it in his face.
