Luau, The Main Campfire, Friday evening

Around dinner time on Friday, the main campfire was transformed. Leis and grass skirts were available to all. A pig was roasting kabobs. There was Hawaiian music playing from somewhere. There was also a limbo stick of doom. If you lost, you died.

Okay, that was just Drax's hope. He couldn't make it happen in reality. Woe.

There is a fire here. It provides light and warmth and a place to mingle and something to burn marshmallows. Don't die in the fire. Drax will not save you if you fall in.

Please note that there is a pig roasting here. He is making shish kabobs. No, you cannot have them. He will grunt at you. No, he cannot talk. He's just a pig who likes making shish kabobs.

There are grass skirts here. Wear them to dance to the island music. Do not try to smoke them. They are not that kind of grass.

There is food and drink that you can actually get your hands on here. Enjoy.

Drax totally rigged it to fall every time somebody tried to go under it. He enjoyed the little things.

Luau continues to be an awesome word.

Jaye might be here just to see if she can hear any marshmallows.

Long story.

Seely was totally there, totally shirtless, and totally dancing.

Also totally looking like just a little bit of a dork.

There may have been a "Work it!" from somewhere not the dance floor.

Cuz Jaye sure as hell isn't on it.

Aravis was standing near to the fire in a simple summer gown with a lei draped over her hair.

She may have been eyeing the marshmallows warily.

Seely worked it. Oh, yes, he did.

Pam was thoughtfully poking marshmallows onto skewers and looking around to see if there was anyone doing anything particularly interesting.

Z helped herself to a plate of food. Mmmmm luau food.

"Aravis!" Seely grinned at waved.

She smiled and raised her hand in a little wave. "Good evening, Seely."

Note her complete lack of shock at the shirtlessness.

Aeryn has no idea why she goes to these things, but weirdly, she feels like she should wth so little time left.

Or at least she'll grab a drink and stand over here.

"Like the luau so far?"

She smiled. "Are all the celebrations called strange things here?"

"Z!" Conner greeted her, through a mouthful of roasted pig. "I haven't blown anybody's cover yet!"

Yeah, because starting off the conversation with that exact phrase was such an auspicious sign.

"Some of them," Seely replied. "Luau's kind of a cool word though."

"I've never encountered it before," Aravis noted, gingerly touching the flowers on her head. "And this isn't a wreath, it's some other silly word."

Z looked around quickly to see who might have heard Conner. "That's great, Conner!" she said. "Maybe you could keep up the good work?" And not talk with his mouth full, yeesh.

"Lei," Seely said. "So you could say you've been lei'ed."

Stupid mouth working ahead of brain.

"...I could," Aravis agreed, staring and looking somewhere between scandalized and amused. "But I'm not certain I will, all the same."

Yeah, like that was going to happen. On either count.

"So planning on it," he said. Still through a mouthful of food. Poor pig.

Naomi was standing by the fire and having a few marshmallows.
