Fandom High Graduation Ceremony Class of 2007 Part I - Saturday Afternoon

The sun was shining high in the sky above the front lawn (not that this would matter to certain members of the audience since there was a nice awning and shaded pathways). A stage was set up with a podium and several seats for the administration and guests. Off to the side of the stage, a guitar for musical performances.

In front of the stage, blue and gold chairs were set for the largest graduating class in Fandom High history (not that it was a tough record to achieve), and to either side of those chairs were bleachers for students, family, friends, alumni, and residents of the town of Fandom who wanted to wtiness this event.

It was a beautiful day for a graduation.

It'll be kind of hard to miss the events of the second post, so you might want to hold off an any post-graduation posts for a while to avoid being Jossed.]

Angel grabbed a seat in the shade. He couldn't believe it'd been a year since he'd gone through this.

Anakin wandered over, an extra cup of coffee in his hand, looking incredibly nervous.

"Hi."

Angel looked up at Anakin.

"New haircut?"

Angel really liked to think he was funny.

Anakin cracked a smile. "Yeah," he said. "Rory's grandfather hates it."

"Please tell me it's not because he has the same one."

Cue the slightly hysterical laughter. "Hardly," he said, craning his neck. "See the man in tweed with the bow tie sitting next to the woman who never smiled in her life? Those are the Gilmores."

Angel peered over to take a look.

"Rory's adopted, right?"

"Heh. No," Anakin said, "but I think we need to thank the Force for Lorelai. Can you imagine how Rory would've turned out with those two?"

"Not too ready to be forgiving of me, I'm guessing," Angel said. He looked Anakin over. "So how's it going?"

Anakin shrugged. "It's going. Some days are easier than others. Today? Is a good day. Aeryn's wearing a stupid hat."

"It's good that you're learning to appreciate the little things."

"I'd say it's all little things, but that's not true," Anakin said with a smirk. "I'm remembering how to smile again. Did you see Rory yet? She's valedictorian."

And that would be Anakin trying not to burst with pride.

"Took me centuries to work up to the little things," Angel said. "Consider yourself lucky. And yeah. She told me last night."

Angel didn't have to worry about hiding how proud he was of her.

Isabel wandered over and took a seat next to him. "Hey stranger."

"Yeah. Me," she said sheepishly. "I'll never be able to bug you about making phone calls again."

"One down," Angel replied. "You okay?"

"I'm okay," Isabel smiled. "Parker and Jack made sure of it. I'm sorry I didn't call. Things have been a bit crazy."

"Did you fall naked from the ceiling?"

"No, more like through time and space," she explained. "I wound up in Cardiff. Fortunately I was not naked."

"Well yeah," Angel said. "It can get pretty cold there."

"The little bit I saw of the weather was pretty crappy," Isabel agreed. "But I was so tired I didn't really care. I just wanted to get home. A friend of Jack's was able to help me."

"Good for Jack's friend," Angel said. "You back for good now?"

"I don't think so. Max and Michael are still out there. I need to get back to them. Hopefully in August I'll be able to." She refused to think about what would happen if she couldn't.

"So tell me, how's life in LA? Logan behaving himself?"

"It's good," Angel said. "Busy. Lotta cases. Logan's holding up his end, believe me."
