fandomhigh | Fandom High Graduation Ceremony Class of 2007 Part I

The sun was shining high in the sky above the front lawn (not that this would matter to certain members of the audience since there was a nice awning and shaded pathways). A stage was set up with a podium and several seats for the administration and guests. Off to the side of the stage, a guitar for musical performances.

In front of the stage, blue and gold chairs were set for the largest graduating class in Fandom High history (not that it was a tough record to achieve), and to either side of those chairs were bleachers for students, family, friends, alumni, and residents of the town of Fandom who wanted to wtiness this event.

It was a beautiful day for a graduation.

Anakin was clearly not buying that. "Uh-huh."

Angel? So not good at covering for himself sometimes. "So. Nice day, huh?"

"I suppose so," Anakin said slowly. "What aren't you telling me?"

"...lots of things?"

Which had the advantage of being true.

"The Logan thing."

Anakin wasn't completely oblivious.

"He's in LA now," Angel said, though he knew full well Anakin knew that already.

"Yeah, I know that part," Anakin said flatly.

"Working with me?" Angel tried.

Anakin rolled his eyes. "Fine, don't tell me. We're not that close anyway."

Angel debated not saying anything. Then he figured if Anakin was going to trust him to help with the whole redemption thing, he'd need to know that Angel would be honest with him.

So Angel said: "Logan and I are."

Blink.

"Logan and you are..."

There's that connection.

"Oh!"

More blinking.

"Logan? Really?"

"Get in line," Angel said, rolling his eyes 'cause boy had he heard that reaction before.

"I never got that from him," Anakin mused. "Probably because he hates me, but whatever. Huh."

"He makes me smile," Angel said.

After a moment, he added, "I'm aware that's disturbing."

Anakin held his finger and thumb an inch apart. "Little bit," he admitted.

"Actually he's more like - " Angel started to gesture, then stopped himself. "Uh - anyway. It's not romance or anything. Just... nice."

Anakin's eyes went wide for a second before he brought himself back under control. "Nice is...nice," he said.

Brilliant observation, that.

"Change of pace," Angel agreed.

"I can understand that," Anakin said finally with a wry smile. "You can overdose on drama."

"Who, me?" Angel asked, innocently.

Anakin grinned. "Well, me too. I never had a relationship that wasn't fraught with melodrama."

"It'd get boring otherwise," Angel said.

"Or maybe...sane," Anakin suggested. He shrugged. "I'm not making plans for any kind of relationship, you know, ever again, so the point's moot anyway."

"I hear ya," Angel said. "Me'n Logan... It's not. He'll find somebody else, eventually."

Not that Angel was thrilled about that.

"Not that you're thrilled about that," Anakin guessed.
