Sipping her coffee, Isabel wondered if Josh and Alexandria had made it home safely.

Keeping busy helped. Isabel was going through the aisles, dusting everything within reach.

Ring the bell if you need her.

She's still back in the shelves, this time rather mesmerized by the children's books.

The end of the semester's approaching, Isabel was making a list of who had overdue books.

Dawn finally managed to drag herself out of bed and showed up just before lunch, carrying several books. "Hey."

"Hey Dawn," Isabel said quietly. "What's up?"

"I have some books to return," she said, tracing the dragon on the cover of the top one.

"You to?" she asked, looking at the titles.

Dawn sighed, "Maggie liked dragons. How was your weekend?"

"Prom was lots of fun," Isabel smiled. "Then on Sunday my brain got broken by a seven year old daughter and a four year old son."

"Sam and I raided a used bookstore, and then we got a seven year old daughter, he got three more kids, and Dean and I got an eight year old son, so...yeah." She was almost ready to let go of her grip on the books, really.

"So you guys really had your hands full," Isabel chuckled. "Sounds like Parker, she had six or seven. Two was enough for me. You know," she said, pulling up Dawn's library account on the computer, "you could keep those for a few more days if you'd like."

The library is closed for lunch unless your the librarian or an aide.

Isabel uploaded her pictures of the kids, then did a little online shopping.

She's straightening up in preparation for closing.

Parker stopped by, as she was getting in the habit of doing, and collapsed onto one of the high stools next to the counter. "I need a nap."

"You didn't sleep last night?" Isabel asked, although she could relate to why not easily enough.

"Too much to think about. Plus a first period class to get up for." She yawned. "They were here and now they're gone and I'm left with too many thoughts, damnit."

"Yeah, I know the feeling," she admitted, pushing in the last chair and coming back to lean on the desk. "I'm trying to stick to the happy ones though. That somewhere out there, I've got a family and I'm happy. It's certainly better the the other Isabel Xander met."

"Oh sure. They're happy. But are they safe?" Parker blinked, looking intrigued at the mention of another Isabel. "I don't think I heard about that. Although, what he told me about the other me he met was bizarre enough."

"I didn't want to ask too many questions, but they seemed to be." Isabel absently straightened some of the papers on the desk. "Alexandria mentioned something about living in the moutains and hiking and waterfalls. And god knows she mentioned you and Cedric enough. So I think between the three of us, or them, I guess, she's safe. And Josh? He had him mommy and daddy and hair gel. So he was happy."

"The other Isabel had been married. And then the military tried to kill all of them, so she left her husband and went on the run with Max, Liz, Michael, Maria and Kyle. In a VW van of all things." The look on her face should make it pretty clear what Isabel thought of that reality. "She turned up towards the end in Sunnydale and spent a few days hanging out with Xander."

"Of course she did. Alexandria's an adorable kid, you think I'd let her grow up without knowing about boots and Cartier?" Parker grinned a little. "I'm glad she got to meet Jack, finally. Sophia seemed to like her a lot too. She preferred her and Ananda to the rest of my kids."

"Right. That's completely bizarre," Parker said, after hearing the explanation of the Other Isabel. "You'd go nuts like that. But at least you weren't forty, like the other Parker who Xander met."

"I'm glad to. Jack gave her the bracelet I'd given him for Christmas," she said quietly. "So she'd know that he'd always love her. All I can think about is how that Isabel is going to react. If she'll recognize it and know what it means. It'll be a shock I'm sure. Fandom weirdness again after how many years?"

"Forty? And let me guess, she didn't go to Fandom."

*cries*
