Library - 4/18

Isabel was not particularly happy when she opened the library. It was too quiet without a chatterbox rambling on a mile a minute, or a sweet little boy trying to raid her hair gel.

It was going to be a very long day.

Isabel snickered. "Maybe you and Sam should start practicing? Although technically that would be for Maggie I suppose."

Dawn blushed, "No. Maggie was cute, but we're definitely not ready for her yet. Or I'm not, anyway."

"The key word there was practicing," she pointed out. "Unless this whole experience has made you swear off sex until you're thirty."

"Thirty's a long time," Dawn said, "but yeah, definitely a little leery right now, which isn't fair, because we were completely careful and we just got started!"

Isabel reached over and patted Dawn's shoulder sympathetically. "Give it a few days, I'm sure the leeriness will wear off. At least I hope so. Otherwise we're liable to have a dorm full of extremely cranky, frustrated people around."

"Thanks," Dawn leaned on the counter, still peeking at pictures, "and no, I don't see that being a good thing."

"No, no good would come of that. Well, unless we had some sort of evil invasion," Isabel said, shaking her head. "Can you imagine the response? Grrr, argh, I haven't had sex in days. Let me kick your ass now." For the first time, Isabel did the math of how long it had been for her and sighed.

"Maybe that's why Buffy was always...whoa," Dawn's eyes widened as her sister's nighttime activities began to make more sense. "You okay?"

"Yeah," she shrugged. "Just trying to figure out how cranky I'm supposed to be given my six month long time warp on Antar."

"I honestly don't know," Isabel replied. "In a way I suppose I should be grateful there was so much life or death stuff going on. It meant I didn't have time to dwell on it. And wow, that's something I never thought I'd say."

She shrugged. "Better I suppose. I finally talked to my parents and made a trip back to Roswell so at least I don't have that to worry about anymore."

"Meh sums it up nicely," Isabel said dryly. "It was wonderful to finally be able to tell them everything." Well almost everything, what happened with Kivar was something Isabel wasn't certain she'd ever be willing to talk about. "But then I had to explain where Max and Michael are and why there's a good chance they won't be back. They weren't happy."

Dawn walked around the desk and hugged Isabel. "At least there's no more hiding?"

"Thanks," Isabel said, returning the hug. "No more hiding, no more secrets. That's all good. And I have to admit, the look on Mom's face when Bel shimmered me out of there was pretty funny."

"Sadly no. Of course mom called about two minutes after I got back to my room," Isabel said, laughing a bit at the memory. "She wanted to know if Bel would bring me back once a week for dinner."

"I'm not sure if it's that she's adapted or if she's still in shock," Isabel shrugged. "But no matter what, it's a start."

"No, it's still too much going back there," Isabel replied. "I keep looking for them. It hurts to much."

"It's okay," Isabel assured her. "I mean it's family and home cooked food. I'm probably nuts for turning it down."
