Spy Tech, Class Eight (03/07)
Wednesday, March 7, Period One
Once the students are seated, M indicates the absence list projected on the wall, and then immediately moves on to the lecture.
UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
BARBARA GORDON (CLASS SEVEN)
LECTURE: "Today we'll begin our unit on disguise, by discussing two technologies used to create simple and subtle disguises. It's easy enough to wear a wig or colored contacts to make very basic changes to your appearance, but there are times when you need to be more convincing, when you need to be able to fool someone who's actively investigating your identity. Santos and Blank are passing around two items to each of you. The first is a fingerprint kit. Not for taking fingerprints, but for creating false ones. The kits will copy the fingerprint of someone else, and produce fine latex replicas that you wear over your own fingers. The fakes don't have a very long lifespan, but they're quite useful when you know you're going into a situation where you've got to maintain a false identity as another person.
"The second item is a voice changer. Just as the fingerprint kit copies someone else's fingerprints, this item copies a person's voice-print, and then alters your own voice to match it. Again, it isn't something you'd want to use long-term, but it can be very useful when you need an extremely convincing disguise, or for use in telephone communications."
CLASS ACTIVITY: "Today, I want you to use the remainder of the class period to practice with the fingerprint kit. Pair up and take the prints of one of your classmates and create fakes for yourself, and then use the fingerprint testing materials in the box on my desk to take and test latent fingerprints, so that you can demonstrate for yourselves how they work."
ASSIGNMENT: "Your assignment for next week is to take home one of the voice changers. Copy someone's voice, and then use the voice changer to disguise yourself as that person. I expect all of these to be returned next week, and if I find out that any of you have used the voice changer to cause trouble or to get someone else in trouble, you'll have detention and an F for the assignment. Next week, we'll meet in the Danger Shop."
[NOTE: Standard disclaimer for the assignment: please don't use it to cause undue mischief, and make certain you get OOC permission from the player before copying their voice.]
[ooc: Yeah, I said last week that they'd be meeting in the Danger Shop this week. I lied. Next week, totally meeting in the Danger Shop, though.Kindly wait for the OCD is finished. Class is in session!]

Snorting, she bent her head back over her own work because it was so not her who did it.

Re: TALK TO THE TAs
What? It's a class assignment that she can do without having to worry about it affecting her braced shoulder. Give her a break.
OOC
Seriously, pleeeeaaasse don't use the voice changers for nefarious purposes! (Unless you get admin permission, and M's permission, and sign an affadavit, and give a DNA sample...)
Re: OOC
*shuffles off to do something boring like, pretend to be Pippi or some such thing.*
Re: OOC
Okay, you totally have my permission to impersonate M, although you might want to wait until after week's class, which will make it much much easier. ;)
