Ethics [Monday, March 5, 5th period]

When the students entered the Ethics class, there was no sign of their normal instructor.

Instead a young man with a livid scar down his right eye wearing a dark cloak was leaning against the desk.

He looked at each of the students. "I am Anakin Skywalker. I'll be the Ethics instructor for the remainder of the semester. Darth Vader is gone."

He rustled through some papers. "I understand he had put you into pairs to learn to exploit each other." His eyes narrowed. "I don't work that way. Instead, please tell me what you learned about your partner--if anything--and how you would overcome individual weaknesses in order to become a more cohesive team."

He pointed at a student at random. "We will begin with you."

Silly Anakin actually thought that there might not be any questions about the change in teachers.

Boggle, question, toss notes, whatever.

Anakin is slightly more easygoing than the last teacher.

But only slightly.

Valentine was most disappointed that he no longer had a masked teacher. Of all of his classes, Ethics had been the only one in which he actually understood what was going on.

He might have been pouting very visibly at this unfortunate turn of events.

Irulan raised her eyebrows at this teacher, he seemed young but his scar suggested otherwise. Perhaps he was a warrior?

John just kept his eyes averted today.

Dean listened with half an ear, deciding he was going to like this class a lot better now. He may have been doodling imps wearing mouse ears on his notes as he listened.

Sam glanced over to see what Dean was writing, and snickered. "Still have Disney on the brain?" he asked quietly.

"Well that and the imp infestation Alec and I took care of while we were there," Dean replied.

"The what infestation?" Sam sighed. "You can't go anywhere without getting into trouble, can you?"

Anakin's lips quirked up. "Hi, Jaye."

"Hi," she says, and for Jaye, this is downright perky. "I like this arrangement much better."

Also, because hi to the drinking buddy who she's seen engage in boykissy more than once.

Turtle may have been glaring at the new teacher the entire time. Where was Vader? And why did they get this tool instead? She might have to work double-time on annoying Mr. Yuki now to satisfy her need to bother the heck out of her teachers....

Blair was happy to see Anakin back but he frowned as he raised his hand. "Uh...what does 'gone' mean?"

"Dead," Anakin replied flatly.

Not into sugar-coating, this guy.

"Oh, that...." Blair gaped for a moment. "That's horrible, man! What happened? Should we do something? Send a card?"

Anakin stared. "He destroyed trillions of lives and was on board a space station that was designed to kill planets. He doesn't get a card. The universe is a far better place without him."

Steerpike did his best to refrain from visibly rolling his eyes at this change in teachers. The former teacher, he felt, must have had a much more realistic view of the world and how it worked, and Steerpike was now quite sure that a) he had nothing at all to learn from this new guys and b) he definitely had to take over Fandom. If he didn't it was all going to go to hell in a handbasket, anyway.

This was an interesting development, to be sure. This man seemed to be less intimidating than Vader, but there was something about him... "Gone? I take it he didn't just get bored and leave?" There was definately more to this than meets the eye.

"He was killed," Anakin said flatly. "There are consequences to every choice. His finally caught up with him."

"I see," no he didn't, but he did see that there again seemed to be more too it than what the professor was saying. "Should I offer my condolences or was he no close aqquantance of yours?"

Molly beamed at Anakin. She was a little disappointed that Katara wasn't in class today to meet Anakin. But, she was the class TA. Maybe they had met already.

Sam looked more than a little relieved to see Anakin. It wasn't that he was particularly bothered by Vader, but nicer teachers were always a pleasure to have.
