Ethics [Monday, March 5, 5th period]

When the students entered the Ethics class, there was no sign of their normal instructor.

Instead a young man with a livid scar down his right eye wearing a dark cloak was leaning against the desk.

He looked at each of the students. "I am Anakin Skywalker. I'll be the Ethics instructor for the remainder of the semester. Darth Vader is gone."

He rustled through some papers. "I understand he had put you into pairs to learn to exploit each other." His eyes narrowed. "I don't work that way. Instead, please tell me what you learned about your partner--if anything--and how you would overcome individual weaknesses in order to become a more cohesive team."

He pointed at a student at random. "We will begin with you."

Silly Anakin actually thought that there might not be any questions about the change in teachers.

“Well doesn’t it? From the way you’re speaking of him Vader deserved to die, for some reason or another, including destroying some of your most precious things, and you helped kill him for it. Looking at that side alone it seems rather cut and dry, I admit, but then you add the rest into the equation.”

Balthier paused taking a breath and leaned forward in his chair before continuing. “He was a teacher with responsibilities and duties to serve the students and faculty of this facility. At his death, those responsibilities were at a loss and the staff was down one teacher. Why then do you, the one who claims to have a hand in his death, take up in teaching the class that your enemy started? Most would just leave things be or not even know that the man taught at all - he never stuck me as the type to brag about teaching.” The young pirate shrugged.

“Nevertheless, some how you did have this information and for some reason you, of all possible people, took it onto your shoulders to take over his class. It does seem the right and noble thing to do, but it also creates more questions than it answers. The main one being: why did you take over the class?”
