Ethics [Monday, March 5, 5th period]

When the students entered the Ethics class, there was no sign of their normal instructor.

Instead a young man with a livid scar down his right eye wearing a dark cloak was leaning against the desk.

He looked at each of the students. "I am Anakin Skywalker. I'll be the Ethics instructor for the remainder of the semester. Darth Vader is gone."

He rustled through some papers. "I understand he had put you into pairs to learn to exploit each other." His eyes narrowed. "I don't work that way. Instead, please tell me what you learned about your partner--if anything--and how you would overcome individual weaknesses in order to become a more cohesive team."

He pointed at a student at random. "We will begin with you."

Silly Anakin actually thought that there might not be any questions about the change in teachers.

"The what infestation?" Sam sighed. "You can't go anywhere without getting into trouble, can you?"

"Hey, it's not like I conjoured them or anything!" Dean protested. "They were there already. In the Small World ride. We just got rid of them before someone could get hurt."

"We? You mean Alec helped?" Sam asked.

Dean gave Sammy a look. "Of course he helped."

"I was just wondering. I mean, it's not like he's gone through the same kind of training we have," Sam explained defensively. "I take it everything went all right?"

"He took Dad's class last semester," Dean pointed out, "and he's got experience in other combat situations." He nodded. "And it all went fine, though they'd mulitiplied so much it took us two nights to get them all."

Sam rolled his eyes lightly, before making a face. "Ew. I was already kind of glad that you didn't take me with you, but now I'm even more so."

"It was a good trip even with the imps." Dean grinned. "Can't be a Winchester vacation without a little weird."

"Yeah, we can't forget the weird, or we might be mistaken for normal," Sam replied sarcastically.

Dean shrugged. "Normal would be boring. So how was your break? Spend a lot of time with Dawn?"

Sam couldn't hide the way he broke into a grin. "We spent some time together, yeah."

"Now that's a good expression. Have fun, did ya?"

"We did, yeah. Not as much fun as I think you would have liked," he added quickly. "But we managed to enjoy ourselves. And I went to the mainland with Dad, which wasn't nearly as much fun, but it wasn't as bad as I expected."

"You and Dad? And you went voluntarily?"

"It didn't seem like I had much of a choice when he asked me," Sam replied. "And I'm trying to fight with him less."

"That's good," Dean said, smiling approvingly at him. "So, it went okay?"

"Yeah. We...talked, amazingly enough. Got a few things cleared up. And only argued a little."

"The day you and Dad stop arguing altogether, I'll start looking for the apocalypse," Dean teased.

"It probably won't be an apocalypse, just Dad losing his mind enough to stop turning everything I say into a potential for fighting." Not that Sam would know anything about that.

Sam grumbled softly. "I'm not as bad as he is."
