School Assembly, Friday afternoon, The Auditorium

For today's assembly, there were eleven chairs set up on one half of the stage, a microphone at center stage and a table with several books piled on it one the other half of the stage. When everyone in the audience was seated, a small, blue figure strode onto the stage. "Hello der," it said. "Me Cookie Monster. De following people please to come up on stage and be in spelling bee. Is impromptu."

He cleared his throat and pronounced the names carefully. "JC Broots, Dick Casablancas, Demyx, Zero Hopeless-Savage, Pippi Longstocking, Ami Mizuno, Stealtrike, Tannim, Valentine, Naomi Wildman, and Matilda Wormwood."

Once they were all up on stage, he went to sit behind the table and gave them their instructions. "Me say word, you say word, you spell word, you say word again. If you right, you get cookie and go to next round."

[[OOC: Please see the plottery post for a rules refresher. Also, please wait for OCD is up! Spell away.]]

Annette found a seat close to the stage.

Why did these assemblies have to go on during the market reports? Turtle was there, one ear plugged up with an earplug hooked up to her radio. C'mon, MT, stop falling...! Falling is bad!

Setsuna didn't have anything better to do; she found a seat near the back, and went over swords techniques in her head while she waited for the assembly to begin. Knowing she had trouble with English spelling, she figured this would be interesting.

Peter vaguely wondered if the spelling had to be American spelling only as he found a seat.

Sokka sat down near the back. With pen and paper. Spelling bee == Time to take notes!

With a wee mouse Jack still balancing on her shoulder, Isabel took a seat to watch the show.

Mac settled in her seat to wait for the assembly to start.

She has her phone at the ready to take pictures of anything weird that might happen. She's learned that assembly is a really good place for finding that sort of thing.

Billy had never been to a spelling bee before. He wondered why it was called a Bee.

Parker's there to support Zero, and to a less extent, Broots. Zero's way with words ought to make this entertaining to say the least.

"Cookie?" She snorted, looking at Cookie Monster then Steerpike.

Turtle cheered loudly when the contestants had been called up, and not because EAS had gone up. "Whoo! Go Tannim!!"

Annette stood and shouted, "Good luck, Dick!" When he turned and waved at the audience.

Sokka scribbled furtive notes the entire time.

Billy wasn't the sort to burst out into cheers, but he did clap extra loud for Ami.
