First Period

...Only a cluster of chairs yelling "pick me! pick me!"? Not part of the drill. Bridge is sitting at the counter playing with his laptop. And his chair is occasionally blowing smug raspberries at the other library chairs, who are off in a sulk.

Yomiko walked into the library, started to greet Bridge, and froze. The chairs were talking.

"More caffeine," she decided. "Or maybe much, much less."

"I vote more," Bridge says. His chair blows another raspberry. "That's very rude," he informs it.

Apparently the shelves in the History section decided to rewrite history overnight. Or at least, reorganize it. Bridge is convincing the shelves to shuffle back to their rightful places.

It might have been a futile endeavour, but River had gone to the library in search of books on how to fly squirrel-built spacecrafts. When she saw Bridge, she waved smiled. "How are you?"

"I'm..." Bridge starts to answer, then tilts his head and *really* looks at River. "How are *you*?" he asks carefully.

River knew that lying to Bridge was pointless. "Better," she said. At least she had a plan - and that plan was clear in her mind - and that was an improvement.

And now he's back at the counter, searching through the database for people with overdue books to address strongly-worded letters to.

Chris decides to stop by the library after class. Today's lesson intrigued him enough to want to check out some books on Fairy Tales.

"Aside from the talking furniture?" Bridge says, glancing over at the sulking chairs and rolling his eyes.

Yes, the individual study carrels are singing. No, it's not particularly conductive to studying.

Angela covered her ears as she walked in. "So, we didn't just get singign furniture," she said. "We got singing furniture that can't agree on a song."

She started sorting through returned books. "And hi."

"It could be so much worse," Bridge points out. "I mean, at least they can carry a tune. Even if it's not the *same* tune."

Lunch

Bridge? Eating lunch. And attempting to point out to the returns cart that no, it *can't* have some of his sandwich, because *carts don't eat*. Library's closed unless you work here.

Fifth Period

Don't ask about the half a tuna-fish sandwich in the book cart. Just don't.

And now Bridge is ignoring the attention-whoring chairs in favour of catching up on webcomics.

And now he's tidying up the library in preparation to close. The cart he'd shared his lunch with is quite happy to help. Bridge isn't sure what the cart wanted with lunch in the first place, given its lack of a digestive system, but he's not arguing at this point.
