She's not really awake enough to do anything productive, so she's just sort of poking at her computer and sipping her coffee.

When in doubt, go for the comfort of books. Willow came into the library and stood there, taking in deep breaths.

She'd go for reading soon, but right now she was comforting herself with library smell.

Rory looked up from her computer and gave Willow a sleepy wave.

Willow gave a little wave back. She looked more sad than sleepy. "Hey. How are things of a Rory-like nature?"

"Early," Rory said, starting to wake up enough to register Willow's expression. "Are you okay?"

"I'm without a roommate," Willow said. She came over to the desk so she could talk in a library-appropriate volume. "Marie got yanked out of school. Also? Sometimes when I swallow I can still taste Seely. Which I realize is the far lesser problem comparitively, but I felt it was worth mentioning."

"She got yanked out of school?" Rory repeated. "Like, by her parents, or was she expelled?" She paused. "And ew, you kissed someone who looks like Angel and that's like hearing about someone who made out with my brother, which is even weirder as my biological brother is an infant."

"It was supposed to be a punishment!" Willow said. "And... Marie's probably been yanked also as a punishment. Her folks aren't too open-minded on the mutant thing. Which makes me think we should force them to kiss Seely."

"That's...okay, what, did they think she caught it from one of us or something?" Rory asked, confused.

"I don't know," Willow said. "Nobody answers when I try to call her. All I know is what Principal Washburn told me, which is that they yanked her out."

Rory frowned. "I'm sorry," she said, not really knowing what else to say. "Are you looking for helpful researchy books, then? I don't know what one would research for this, but...it's Fandom."

"Mostly I was looking for books as comfort," Willow said. "Between the Marie thing and the Seely thing I felt that there was a strong need for a recharging of book related batteries. I wanted to be in their booky world and know that at least they were okay."

Rory gave a small, slightly sad smile at that. "Oh, I understand that one. I like that when like, everything is crappy and doesn't make any sense and you have no control, books are still exactly the same."

"Exactly," Willow said. "Like library smell. All libraries have it, no matter what. It's a soothing constant in a topsy-turvy world."

"And pages always sound the same. There are different dialects, since books have different ages and the pages have different thicknesses, but it's not drastically going to change," Rory added.

"And that plastic cover that all the hardcovers get," Willow said. "Feels the same no matter what."

"And libraries are never loud," Rory replied. "I'm not a fan of loud noises."

"Me neither," Willow agreed. "Unless it's a dancing situation, but you wouldn't hold a dance in a library. The books would get scared."

"I bet some of the books are closet dancers," Rory mused. "But probably more of the ballroom kind rather than, like, into booky raves."

"Oo - except maybe the coloring books?" Willow suggested. "I could see them being into the neon scene."

"But still in a structured way," Rory said with a nod. "Because the lines are in the coloring books for a reason, even if not everyone colors in them."

"Yes!" Willow said, glad that someone understood this. "That's why you color in a hard line around the lines, so that way when you fill in later it's a little barrier to make sure you don't go over and totally ruin the picture and waste the crayon to boot!"

"Yes!" Rory agreed. "And it just looks better and I am all for modern art but there's no need for sloppiness."

"Exactly," Willow said. "Plus there's blank paper if you want to be all over the place. No need to trap the poor little uncolored bunnies and kittens behind a wall of mess, never to see the world or even breathe properly again."

"And depending on the color, it can look very upsetting," Rory said. "Like if there's red scribbling, it's all violent-looking. Or if it's blue? They're drowning."
