Library [11/30]

Rory decided to do her Christmas cards early this year, so when she stumbled into the library that morning, she had a stack of those as well as her coffee and laptop.

She's not really awake enough to do anything productive, so she's just sort of poking at her computer and sipping her coffee.

And now that she's showing the first signs of being coherent, Rory's making a list of who needs to get which kinds of cards.

For instance, her grandparents and their friends, whose cards she's doing now, aren't getting funny little Shoebox cards.

And now she's moved into territory where if anyone comes into the library and asks for help, these cards will be hidden, since yay for surprises.

The cards have been put away by now, and the library's only open if you work here.

Okay, now that the cards are gone, Rory's actually doing her job and reshelving books.

But woe for she is not here now!

But now she's back, and smiling a little for the first time in a long, long time, after Ethics.

Yay, I'm around until about 7 or 8 EST and then I disappear until the wee hours!

When in doubt, go for the comfort of books. Willow came into the library and stood there, taking in deep breaths.

She'd go for reading soon, but right now she was comforting herself with library smell.

Rory looked up from her computer and gave Willow a sleepy wave.

Willow gave a little wave back. She looked more sad than sleepy. "Hey. How are things of a Rory-like nature?"

"Early," Rory said, starting to wake up enough to register Willow's expression. "Are you okay?"

"I'm without a roommate," Willow said. She came over to the desk so she could talk in a library-appropriate volume. "Marie got yanked out of school. Also? Sometimes when I swallow I can still taste Seely. Which I realize is the far lesser problem comparitively, but I felt it was worth mentioning."

River sneaked into the library, heading towards the art book section. She needed something to focus on. Painting was good that way.

She wondered if giving Blair his fish back had been a good idea.

"She got yanked out of school?" Rory repeated. "Like, by her parents, or was she expelled?" She paused. "And ew, you kissed someone who looks like Angel and that's like hearing about someone who made out with my brother, which is even weirder as my biological brother is an infant."

"It was supposed to be a punishment!" Willow said. "And... Marie's probably been yanked also as a punishment. Her folks aren't too open-minded on the mutant thing. Which makes me think we should force them to kiss Seely."

"That's...okay, what, did they think she caught it from one of us or something?" Rory asked, confused.

Angela came into the library and started flipping through the return cards. "Don't die of shock, I'm actually working today," she said, by way of a greeting to Rory. "How's it going?"

"It goes," Rory said, waving a little. "How are things with you?"

"Thanksgiving was nice," Angela shrugged. "My family's good, Marty's good, everything's really ... good. How's Bridge?"

"Bridge is...great," Rory said with a small smile. "We went to Vegas last weekend. Total surprise."

Angela took a quick glance at Rory's hand, just in case she and Bridge had mutually gone insane and impulsive in Vegas.

"I'm jealous," she said. "Did you guys gamble or see tacky stage shows or anything? It feels like everybody's going to Vegas but me."

"We saw lions! And I wore a tiara, and we raided the mini bar and fell asleep."

Yes, Rory and Bridge had a wild time in Vegas.

"I don't know," Willow said. "Nobody answers when I try to call her. All I know is what Principal Washburn told me, which is that they yanked her out."
