Basic Acting, Fourth Period, Tuesday

Daisy was seated in her oversized arm chair at the side of the classroom reading a copy of Playbill magazine when the students entered. There was a stack of papers on the podium with a sign stating "take one" above them. When everyone had entered and had some time to take the quiz, she set aside her magazine and gracefully got to her feet.

"As the papers say, those quizzes are not going to be graded. That wouldn't be fair, and apparently fairness, though not required in the majority of the real world, is something that you kids are supposed to get in a classroom setting. They're simply a bit of fun and to find out what you already know about the basic terminology of theater." She picked up another stack of papers and started passing those out. "On these sheets, you'll find the correct answers to the quiz, as well as a lot of other facts and terminology about theater. Some of these terms you, as actors, will never actually need to know. That's pretty much anything about lighting or sound equipment, if you're wondering. But a lot of them you do need to know. When a director tells you you need to cheat out, or to move upstage left, if you end up looking up the answers to your history test or walking forwards and to your right, you might be in a bit of trouble.

"So today we're going to practice some of these terms. I want you to pair up or work in groups of three. You'll take turns as the actor and as the director, and I want to you block an imaginary scene. The director will give you instructions using the terms on these sheets, and you'll follow them. Or don't. That's really up to you and I can't actually tell you what to do, but as long as you understand the terms, I don't really care."

That said, Daisy gestured for the students the students to begin and made herself ready to move from group to group and help out where necessary.

[ooc: The link to the quiz is to a backdated poll, please, if you choose to fill it out, do it IC. You can RP asking neighbors for help on it or some such if you like. Daisy isn't choosing the groups for you this time, pair up as you will. I have a meeting at work on Tuesday from about 2 pm, so I'll be afk for awhile, but Daisy will be in and out as much as possible.]

Hamlet read over the handouts. He had some experience with acting in the past, but would have to come up with something to block.

"I can," he said, shrugging. "Did you have any suggestions for a plot idea?"

Hamlet paused for a moment before going with one of the first ideas to come to him. "How about this: you are a seagull, desperately wanting a meal." He pointed to a spot on the floor. "And that, is the container of leftover french fries you desperately wish to devour."

The twins looked over the papers, decided that today, they would actually split up if they could, and not only work with eachother. That, or they were looking for someone to do a threesome not dirty with.

Sakura, having noted the twins' names(and obvious ethnicity) when they introduced themselves during the first class meeting, figured it couldn't hurt to at least say hello. She wandered over and paused, before crossing her arms over eachother and offering them each a hand. "Um, hi." she said simply, a little unsure of how to handle them.

They both grinned, having a willing victim today. "Hello Sakura, it's a pleasure to meet you." They both took a hand and bowed, turning on their well-practiced charm.

Sakura blanched a few shades, slightly intimidated by their in-tandem speaking. Her mouth quirked into a smile, despite herself. She had seen stranger things... she was friends with the Elrics, after all. "Pleasure to meet you as well, Hikaru and Kaoru..." she nodded in the direction of each of them at their names... and then paused. "...or is it, Kaoru and Hikaru?" she nodded in their direction with the names again. Shoot, which one was which? ...must have something to do with how they parted their hair, it was the only difference between them...

"Don't worry, most people can't tell the difference. I'm Kaoru." Right-part twin smiles. "And I'm Hikaru." Left-part twin smiles too. "Would you like to work some blocking with us?"

Sakura nods. Having no prior experience with the twins, she has nothing to base her judgement on... but somehow, their grins tell her that the mischevious redheads aren't telling her the truth about who's-who. She smiles, anyway. "Sounds like a plan to me," she offers.

"Alright, princess, what would you like the scene to be about?" Hikaru smiles at her, princess said in a non-sarcastic way using his hosty-charms.

One of Sakura's eyebrows twitches a bit at the 'princess' comment(why was he calling her princess?), but she continues to smile. She thumbs her chin in thought, and shrugs slightly. "I'm new at acting, so anything you two think I could handle, I guess."

Angela bit a finger thoughtfully."I have no idea." She paused and sorted through the ideas that came into her head before settling on one. "Um, maybe I'm a pirate."

Zero is a moron who forgot about this class all day looked around hopefully, wondering if there was anyone left who needed a partner.
