Basic Acting, Fourth Period, Tuesday

Daisy was seated in her oversized arm chair at the side of the classroom reading a copy of Playbill magazine when the students entered. There was a stack of papers on the podium with a sign stating "take one" above them. When everyone had entered and had some time to take the quiz, she set aside her magazine and gracefully got to her feet.

"As the papers say, those quizzes are not going to be graded. That wouldn't be fair, and apparently fairness, though not required in the majority of the real world, is something that you kids are supposed to get in a classroom setting. They're simply a bit of fun and to find out what you already know about the basic terminology of theater." She picked up another stack of papers and started passing those out. "On these sheets, you'll find the correct answers to the quiz, as well as a lot of other facts and terminology about theater. Some of these terms you, as actors, will never actually need to know. That's pretty much anything about lighting or sound equipment, if you're wondering. But a lot of them you do need to know. When a director tells you you need to cheat out, or to move upstage left, if you end up looking up the answers to your history test or walking forwards and to your right, you might be in a bit of trouble.

"So today we're going to practice some of these terms. I want you to pair up or work in groups of three. You'll take turns as the actor and as the director, and I want to you block an imaginary scene. The director will give you instructions using the terms on these sheets, and you'll follow them. Or don't. That's really up to you and I can't actually tell you what to do, but as long as you understand the terms, I don't really care."

That said, Daisy gestured for the students the students to begin and made herself ready to move from group to group and help out where necessary.

[ooc: The link to the quiz is to a backdated poll, please, if you choose to fill it out, do it IC. You can RP asking neighbors for help on it or some such if you like. Daisy isn't choosing the groups for you this time, pair up as you will. I have a meeting at work on Tuesday from about 2 pm, so I'll be afk for awhile, but Daisy will be in and out as much as possible.]

"Don't worry, most people can't tell the difference. I'm Kaoru." Right-part twin smiles. "And I'm Hikaru." Left-part twin smiles too. "Would you like to work some blocking with us?"

Sakura nods. Having no prior experience with the twins, she has nothing to base her judgement on... but somehow, their grins tell her that the mischevious redheads aren't telling her the truth about who's-who. She smiles, anyway. "Sounds like a plan to me," she offers.

"Alright, princess, what would you like the scene to be about?" Hikaru smiles at her, princess said in a non-sarcastic way using his hosty-charms.

One of Sakura's eyebrows twitches a bit at the 'princess' comment(why was he calling her princess?), but she continues to smile. She thumbs her chin in thought, and shrugs slightly. "I'm new at acting, so anything you two think I could handle, I guess."

Unfortunatly the twins were also knew at 'acting' not like they didn't do it daily anyways so they had to think of something. "We could do a dramatic death scene."

Sakura grinned, fisting one hand and smacking it into an open palm. "Works for me," she said.

"Do you want to do the dieing? You could...either be shot by your drug dealer that you forgot to pay, OR one of us finds you having an affair with... the other." Hikaru grins as the thought of either amuses him greatly.

Sakura raised a hand sportingly. "I can die; I'm good at dieing." She nodded a little, then pondered her options. "Drug dealer, affair." She made a scale with her hands, weighing her options. "...well I'm not too keen on drugs, so I'd say affair works just fine." A silly grin slid across her face. This was so ridiculous... She was really going to enjoy this class.

"Okay, let's see...." Kaoru looks around at their surroundings. They happen to have a curtain nearby. "That could be the door. Which of us will you be having the affair with?" They snirk a little, not that it matters which she chooses.

Sakura thumbed her chin again, a bit impishly this time. "We~ell," she drawled, frowning thoughtfully at them. "...for simplicity, I'm right-handed." She gestures to 'Kaoru'. "You get to kill me." She added with a laugh.

Kaoru nods and gives a thumbs up. "Alright. I'll start over here then." He moves to right next to the curtain.

Sakura nods as well, and turns to Hikaru. "...so how's he gonna find out?" she asks, jerking a thumb in Kaoru's direction.

" 'Caught in the act', of course." Hikaru grins, taking her one hand and putting a hand on the small of her back, like they were about to dance.

Sakura snickered. "Clever," she quipped, mentally praying she wouldn't step on his feet. Acting was serious business, after all.

Kaoru grinned from the other side of the curtain, "Want to improv it first and then see how it was naturally blocked? Acting should seem natural after all."

Sakura glanced over her shoulder, smiles, and nods. "Good idea, Kaoru-kun," she called.

"Oh getting formal before we get 'intimate' huh?" Hikaru snickered "Alright, Sakura-sempai. Tell us when you're ready." His smirk did not have a mischievious glint behind it. Nope.

Sakura turned back and smiled at Hikaru-- it had been a while since she'd had a chance to talk to other Japanese kids... Although being called 'sempai' was a little odd to her. She shrugged; she was older than them. "All systems go," she supplied, grinning and trying to keep her amusement curbed.

Although Hikaru's grin did unnerve her in the slightest...

Hikaru began to slowly waltz with her, changing his expression to a much more serene one. He began his "lines", trying to set up the scene a little before the intrusion. "Are you sure he won't be back anytime soon?"

Oh, waltzing. She remembered waltzing. Not too pleasant a memory, but Hikaru was a considerably better dancer than her previous counterpart.

"Positive," she lilted, forcing herself to look less amused and more calm, falling into character as well. "It's just us."

Hikaru kept their dancing for a bit, humming a tune when Kaoru made a stomp from the corner, like a door slamming. "Sakura... Hikaru..!" He looked shocked and totally devestated, even though it was only dancing.

Sakura gasped and twisted around, her hair doing an amusingly dramatic fan-out, but kept one hand lightly on Hikaru. "Kaoru!" she cried in surprise.

Oh yes, this acting thing was fun.

Kaoru took a few steps toward them, still very upset looking. "And with my brother who looks like me..where did i go wrong?!..."
Hikaru's expression changed to one of contempt.

Sakura looked momentarly scandalized. "I... this..." She passed a horrified glance to Hikaru. "...this isn't what it looks like!" Oh yes, Sakura. Even in acting, that line was so believable.

"I mean... you could have just waited until I got back. I would have been glad to join you." Kaoru's amused smirk came back to his face as he stepped up behind her to rest his hands on her shoulders.
Hikaru's grin found it's way back too. "I mean, we're brothers. We can share..."
