Constant Vigilance #4: Friday the 3rd, Morning. Serenity Cove.

Today, the class meets on the beach, to accomadate the student who has a bit of an aquatic problem at the moment. The Doctor set out beach blanket and towels, and has hauled the holoprojector out on a cart.

"Pass forward your requests I asked for, thank you. As I let you know, we're switching things around a bit. Vampires and werewolves will be at a later date. Today is simply 'Close Encounters of the Unattractive Kind'. Now, please remember, that it's not so much that I find these species particularly unpleasant, it's just we might as well show some of the more unsavory aliens out in the world. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. I'll be taking questions today, but no lecturing today. It's called close encounters for a reason. You'll be talking to the projections, trying to gather what you can from them. Ask them whatever. Remember they can't actually hurt you, but please only antagonize them if you're being terribly clever about it. There is no assignment for next week. Time for you all to put on your 'first contact' thinking caps. The projector will be sending out three different aliens. Talk to at least one, please."

The Doctor smiled, then turned on the projector. Three forms appeared...

The second projection appears as a scaly reptilian humanoid, with yellow eyes and and oval mouth. It appears to have a reddish third eye in its forehead.

When this projection answered, it's neck seemed to wobble about in an almost campy, overacting type manner.

"Human," it replied. "Please do not waste my time with trivial things."

Sakurazaki liked this one. It looked...more dignified than some of the others. "Hello," she said, with a little bow of her head. She would have bowed more, if she wasn't worried that it could have been interpreted badly. One could never tell.

"Your show of respect is acknowledged," it said, still doing the bizzare head bobbing thing as it talked. "What do you want, human?"

The initial reaction of surprise is rather evident. It called her human. She shook her head a little. Of course it did; it was only a projection. Get a grip on yourself.

"I seek knowledge," she replied, head bobbing again slightly, retaining her stoic approach quite quickly. "I wish to know about you and your kind."

"Your people call mine the Silurians," it said. "However such a term is not fully correct. We came from a different period of Earth's history."

Phoebe moved her tail in the water. "I'm not exactly sure what I am, but they say I'm not human. Are you a Reptile Leader?"

Phoebe was making sure to speak with great respect to him.

"You are not of this planet," the Silurian responded. "Yet you still look like one of the apes."

"I am a reptile of Earth," it replied. "The apes of this planet branded me as a Silurian."

Walter walked over and looked this one over. After the first one, he wasn't sure what to expect here.

"Hello. What are you?"

The previous visitors had agitated him a bit.
