Constant Vigilance #4: Friday the 3rd, Morning. Serenity Cove.

Today, the class meets on the beach, to accomadate the student who has a bit of an aquatic problem at the moment. The Doctor set out beach blanket and towels, and has hauled the holoprojector out on a cart.

"Pass forward your requests I asked for, thank you. As I let you know, we're switching things around a bit. Vampires and werewolves will be at a later date. Today is simply 'Close Encounters of the Unattractive Kind'. Now, please remember, that it's not so much that I find these species particularly unpleasant, it's just we might as well show some of the more unsavory aliens out in the world. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. I'll be taking questions today, but no lecturing today. It's called close encounters for a reason. You'll be talking to the projections, trying to gather what you can from them. Ask them whatever. Remember they can't actually hurt you, but please only antagonize them if you're being terribly clever about it. There is no assignment for next week. Time for you all to put on your 'first contact' thinking caps. The projector will be sending out three different aliens. Talk to at least one, please."

The Doctor smiled, then turned on the projector. Three forms appeared...

[ooc: OCD is up. Have at me!]

Sakurazaki sighed, starting to feel it was useless trying to explain Buddhist dogma to a lizard creature so stuck in the past and/or future. "Will your hibernation be ending soon, then?"

"Your foolish experiments with nuclear power have already stirred us from our slumber," the Silurian said.

"There you go with the 'your' thing again, as if I myself had been splitting the atom. Is your race a collective one? Do you realize that humans, generally, are not? How much of humans to you really know? Or that our 'foolish' experiments with nuclear power won't have us obliverated before you guys even get the chance to wake up? You're talking to a Japanese girl; we got bombed all to hell fifty years ago; who's to say in fifty more, it won't happen again?"

Why was she even arguing all this with this thing? Sakurazaki looked around for a clock; maybe she was just getting antsy about leaving for the weekend. If anything, this guy definately did make her want to get to work....He had very demon-like logic, and it made her want to slice things up terribly.

"We are not a collective race," it repleid. "And matters of apes do not concern me. Only that their nuclear power experiments have awoken our hibernation prematurely. It is almost disgusting to see what you have done with the planet."

There was that 'you' again. Fucking demon-logic. Yeah, yeah, he said lizard, but she wouldn't be surprised if he really was a demon. Sakurazaki shook her head. "Oh, and removing the Van Halen belt to suit your own climate needs is any less destructive?"

"It will merely return things to what they once were. A natural state."

Sakurazaki bit her lip. Okay, so he had her there. "Still doesn't seem all that natural to me," she admitted. "If it were natural, then you wouldn't have to do anything. It would just...happen."

"If we had not been prematurely awoken, that would be the case," the Silurian said. "The conditions on the surface currently cannot sustain our race."
