Summer Picnic, Main Campfire, Friday afternoon

At lunchtime, the campfire area was set up with blankets, baskets, picnic tables, food, and ant problems. The groundskeeper who brought the ants was later sent home for the rest of the day. It turned out that he didn't really like picnics.

[OOC: I suck and completely forgot about this. Sorry about the relative lateness. It's a sunny and fairly comfortable day. I MOD WEATHER! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!]

"Hmm," Peter said, pretending to think. "I seem to have heard about that somewhere."

"Good," Willow said. "That means you're less likely to do it again."

"Perhaps," Peter agreed. He smiled. "Did you enjoy the workshop this morning? Other than the time of worry?"

"I did," Willow said. "The Doctor seems very nice. I like his stance on guns."

"As icky, non-useful things?" Peter asked. "I enjoyed learning how to shoot one, but in general, I agree as well. Bombs also are less than positive."

"Actually they're very useful against large snakes," Willow told him.

"They're very useful against major cities and other military targets as well," Peter said dryly.

Willow looked apologetic. "He was a really big snake."

"Why were you blowing up a really big snake," Peter asked.

"Because he was trying to destroy the town and eat us all," Willow replied, as though this was no different from telling him where to find the movie house in Sunnydale.

Grinning at the blase nature of her response, Peter encouraged elaboration. "Come now, there must be more of a story than that."

"It was the mayor," Willow said, still fairly matter of fact about it. "Turns out he was totally evil and trying to become a pure demon. Apparently for him that meant big snake."

"You Sunnydale folk are really almost British in your enjoyment of understatement," Peter replied.

"You get used to it," Willow admitted. Then she looked proud. "I got to help. Not so much with the bomb as that was more Buffy and Xander and Angel, but I stole important pages from the books of Ascension when I got kidnapped.

"Even when you're kidnapped, you're still looking for books?" Peter asked grinning. "I really have to admire that."

"I'm a tough cookie," Willow replied. She tried to look wordly and smug. "Comes from being the greatest swordswoman in the world."

"Or you just can't resist books no matter what the circumstances are," Peter teased.

"They're just so interesting!" Willow replied with a grin. "But in my case it was all part of killing some vampires, standing up to a rogue Slayer, and helping to save the day."

Yes she was totally bragging now.

Which Peter was happy about as he'd more than encouraged it.

"I'd expect nothing less from she who hold the Greatest Swordswoman title," Peter said. "Helping to save the day is a major part of your job description."

"It's a tough job, but it comes with some pretty great benefits," Willow said, wrinkling her nose at him.

"Well, there's the sword," Peter told her. Because that was enough for him.

Willow gave a pout. "I don't own one."

"Not like that couldn't be fixed," Peter said with a smile.

"Possibly," Willow said, though she hadn't given that much thought. "But that does mean that when I speak of benefits we must remove swords from the list of possiblities of what I'm referring to in the here and the now."

"The title then?" Peter suggested.
