Summer Picnic, Main Campfire, Friday afternoon

At lunchtime, the campfire area was set up with blankets, baskets, picnic tables, food, and ant problems. The groundskeeper who brought the ants was later sent home for the rest of the day. It turned out that he didn't really like picnics.

[OOC: I suck and completely forgot about this. Sorry about the relative lateness. It's a sunny and fairly comfortable day. I MOD WEATHER! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!]

"Nuts," Willow said, pouting with disappointment.

"You could find new material?" Peter suggested, nudging her with his shoulder.

"You'd think being born decades after you would mean it's all new material," Willow said. She looked at him hopefully. "Did you hear the one about the two atoms?"

"No..." Peter said slightly tentatively.

Willow looked pleased. "One atom says to the other 'Oh no! I've lost an electron!' and the second atom says 'Are you sure?' and the first atom says 'Yes, I'm positive!'"

"Which is a good thing?" Peter guessed.

"Oh," Willow's face fell. "I figured with Einstein and all..."

"I rather know who that is?" Peter explained. "But I was twelve. It's not like we learned science."

"We'll just have to fix that then," Willow said, brightly and possibly with far too much enthusiasm for a normal person.

"Oh, good," Peter said, attempting to at least partially match the enthusiasm.

"And then? Once I've taught you? You'll think that joke is really funny," Willow assured him.

"I'm sure I will," Peter agreed politely. "But what did Macbeth say when he saw Birnam Wood coming to Dunsinane?"

"Cheese it, it's the copse!" Peter replied. And this time it may have been his turn to be a bit too amused.

Nope, Willow was geek enough that that still made her giggle. She also gave him another kiss on the cheek. Positive reinforcement and all that.

Peter grinned. "Yes, that's about it as far as non-Narnian jokes go for me."

"There's Narnian jokes?" Willow asked, looking delighted.

"Some," Peter replied, laughing. "They're skewed a bit oddly though."

Peter glanced at her with a bit of amusement. "No one would expect you to know anything about that. Really."

"So what did you get for lunch?" Willow said, because she could topic change with the best of them. Or at least try.

"Really, Willow," Peter looked at her more seriously.

He moved on though and pulled the food out of the basket. "We have sandwiches, strawberries, deviled eggs, and brownies."
