Summer Picnic, Main Campfire, Friday afternoon

At lunchtime, the campfire area was set up with blankets, baskets, picnic tables, food, and ant problems. The groundskeeper who brought the ants was later sent home for the rest of the day. It turned out that he didn't really like picnics.

[OOC: I suck and completely forgot about this. Sorry about the relative lateness. It's a sunny and fairly comfortable day. I MOD WEATHER! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!]

"Can I kill him now, please?" Anakin asked, peeking out from under his arm. "Or maim him a little bit?"

"No, Isabel would be sad, but...he had your hair?"

"Braid and ponytail," Anakin said, nodding. "Freak."

"How did he manage it?" Rory wondered.

"I wasn't in the mood to ask him for fashion tips," Anakin grumbled. "I was too busy trying to figure out what the hell he was trying to do."

"He wanted to be a Jedi? Did you tell him he's too old and he'd have to give up Isabel?" Rory asked, still giggling.

"Yes," Anakin said, biting into a cookie. "He said that he'd be able to be sneaky enough to hide his relationship from the Council, especially since they're further away than Canada or New Zealand."

He gave Rory a pleading look. "Are you sure I can't kill him?"

"Probably not," Rory said apologetically. "He sounds like he didn't mean any harm, at least."

"He's a banthabell solo away from being as annoying as the Temple younglings," Anakin muttered.

"They were so cute!"

"Not cute," Anakin said, finishing off the cookie and reaching for another.

"Adorable," Rory argued, moving the cookies a little away from him.

"Not adorable early in the morning," Anakin argued, scowling. "Why'd you move the cookies?"

"Because you should eat something better for you," Rory said. She saw no hypocrisy in this.

"Cookies are good for me," Anakin insisted.

"No," Rory said, shaking her head. "You'll get pudgy and while I would lo...like a soft-and-plush Anakin just as much as I like the current model, I'd like you to stay this way."

Anakin stuck his lower lip out. "Fine," he said. "What should I eat instead?"

"Hang on," Rory said.

She wandered over to the food, and returned a moment later with a pair of sandwiches, chips, bottled iced coffees and entirely too much candy. "See? Much better for you."

Anakin smiled, then reached for the coffee and candy. "Much better."

"What would you do without me to watch out for your health?" Rory asked smugly as she lounged on the blanket again.

"Get fat on cookies," Anakin replied. "Oh! Faithful's a better pilot than Alanna. It's going to be a long session."

"...the kittycat?" Rory asked, staring at him.

Anakin nodded, finally reaching for a sandwich. "Yup. I've seen stranger things fly."

"But the podracers are big?" Rory said. Yes, it was a question.

"He pushed the accelerator button," Anakin explained. "Alanna's not a big fan of moving, apparently."
